Wow—Six Dems really screwed their voters on this, writing Trump a huge check to continue the Iran war and massively increase military cooperation with Israel.
I noticed that these Dems didn’t start voting “yes” until the Republican “no”s hit the number needed to defeat the bill.
such a funny question from the reporter bc 1. sinwar is dead and she knows that (why would he call for the arrest of a dead guy) and 2. sinwar was never going to visit nyc (for many reasons) and 3. the us and nyc weren't funding hamas, we fund the israelis.
what are we doing
Absolutely bat shit stuff here. Democratic lawmakers being forced to vaguely listen to their constituents on a 80/20 issue is being framed as “fear”. I cannot stress enough how morally depraved and cynical and hostile to democracy this nonstop torrent of Israeli propaganda is.
Tucker’s faux-antiwar shtick exist for one reason and one reason only: to sell JD Vance as an antiwar candidate just as Tucker sold Trump as antiwar in 2016, 2020 and 2024. Painting Vance as a passive bystander here is just the chud version of “tirelessly working for a ceasefire”
Ro, it’s nonsensical to say Israel is both an apartheid and genocidal state, but that violent resistance against its soldiers is unjustified.
Palestinians have every right morally and legally under intl law to resist their occupation.
I’m sorry this is beyond disingenuous. You’re not for nonviolence! You’ve repeatedly say you support Israel’s right to “go after Hamas” with bombs and F35s. This is not a principled stance against violence as such, it’s a selective and self serving stance against some violence.
Journalists at the @nytimes saw a photo of a man being tortured, so naturally they reached out to the people torturing him to get their permission to report on it and give them the first word.
this will be portrayed as based but ultimately the emerging pattern of players having to choose between the money they’re worth and the ability to build a team sucks when every owner is a quadrillionaire
Not trying to spark a debate here, but there's zero chance Kamala Harris reaches out to Mamdani or pro-Palestinian activists if she wins in 2024.
Harris campaigned on the assumption that Gaza doesn't matter electorally. She wins, she proves herself right & governs accordingly
The "Kamala reached out to Mamdani" story should be read the same way as "Biden is mad at Netanyahu behind the scenes" reporting. Which is to say it's a leaked story to give you the impression that candidate is more aligned with populist opinion than they really are.
Clearly Harris and Newsom are trying to court Mamdani because they view him as a key validator with younger, more left primary voters, specifically as a vehicle to whitewash their pro Gaza genocide positions. Obviously if Mamdani assisted any of this it would be morally repugnant
