Our students have to write a project description before they begin their MSc research project. This is such a good way of helping them think through the whole project up front, get to know the literature, and keep the big picture view while working on the details.
In a major scientific breakthrough, the latest version of #AlphaFold has been recognised as a solution to one of biology's grand challenges - the “protein folding problem”. It was validated today at #CASP14, the biennial Critical Assessment of protein Structure Prediction (1/3)
Our researchers developed a machine-learning approach for free-energy estimation, using normalising flows that respect symmetries of the underlying physical system.
