The #CRISPR technology used to change Victoria's life was designed in part by NYU Biology Professor Neville Sanjana.
A great read about the real-world impact of our faculty's research and how it changes lives. @nevillesanjana@nygenome@NYUBiology
On the cover: Victoria Gray, the first #sicklecelldisease patient treated with the CRISPR-based exa-cel cell therapy @VertexPharma@CRISPRTX.
We're publishing the full interview she gave last month for @GENbio "The State of Cell and Gene Therapy" summit.

Using longitudinal RNA-seq & ATAC-seq, we realized that Neurogenin differentiation of pluripotent stem cells activates MANY other TFs. But are ALL of them needed for successful neural differentiation? 🧠 How do we figure out which ones are required? ⚙️
Perturbations, of course!
TWEETORIAL time! In new work, we identify required transcription factors for neural differentiation using a TFome-wide CRISPR knock-out library.
Congrats to first authors @congyiliv and @chaodai (from our lab) and @ggaripler (from @estebanmazzoni lab). 👏👏👏
Our next Soft Matter Seminar speaker is Guillaume Baffou from Institut Fresnel, CNRS, Aix Marseille University. We hope that you can join us! Wed, December 13th at 2:00pm ET.

Have a PhD in an area related to ML/data science, or will soon? You should consider the @NYUDataScience Faculty Fellows program (deadline Nov 28) - it's a great deal - full research independence, low teaching load, good salary and (probably) cheap housing! https://t.co/NESngZJzaN
