@PippyJ_UK@andyvan@SkyNews@DanNeidle Also hospitality is the 3rd largest employers in the country - 3.5m, employing mainly local young people. With nearly 2 pubs closing a day where will these people find jobs? - we’ve seen what the last 2 budgets have done & if there isn’t a solution it will continue. #cutvat
@PippyJ_UK@andyvan@SkyNews@DanNeidle They don’t and shouldn’t! We aren’t asking for handouts. It’s the customers that pay the VAT, so a reduction in VAT would be better for the customer.
@ian_sands@leonburton@Sassan_sir I’m not sure you understand. VAT at 20% in pubs is hurting us. There’s no point in screaming for a VAT reduction that’s unfunded. The solution is to fund it with a VAT rise on alcohol sold in supermarkets - they have the wiggle room. Always best to offer a funded solution ;)
@ian_sands@leonburton@Sassan_sir No I think there should be higher vat rate on alcohol in supermarkets - it’s too cheap! I can’t even buy it at supermarket prices at the wholesalers
Blimey! That went quickly!!
Thanks for all your support over the last 7years, we will need you for a few more years yet - we ain’t going anywhere 💙
