The International Olympic Committee isn’t an intergovernmental organization. Instead the IOC is registered as a private, not-for-profit international non-governmental organization organized as an association under Swiss Law (specifically under Articles 60 et seq. of the Swiss Civil Code). Basically in today’s world the IOC is money collecting and distributing machine. As it appears with no moral engagement or constraints.

There are currently two active representatives from Ukraine serving as Members of the International Olympic Committee: Valeriy Borzov and Sergii Bubka. From Ukraine but not representing the government of Ukraine or required to coordinate their position with the government.

The IOC is currently led by a former minister in the government of Zimbabwe, a country that voted against practically all resolutions of UNGA in support of territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The EU provides variable financial support to International Olympic Committee via multiple European Commission grants, educational initiatives, and collaborative development schemes.

Erasmus+ Programme: This is the primary vehicle for EU sports funding. The IOC and its affiliate entities, like the European Olympic Committees (EOC) EU Office, secure grants for grassroots sports development, social inclusion, and dual-career programs for athletes.

In light of a provisional decision of the IOC to return warmongering Russia to Olympic Games on July 14, 2026, a coalition of nine EU member states (Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, and Sweden) formally petitioned the European Commissioner for Sport, Glenn Micallef, to completely cut off the IOC and other complicit sports bodies from Erasmus+ and all alternative EU funding programs.

This is deeply disturbing.

An extremist group known as Narodowa Straż Kamracka (Kamracka People's Guard) has begun appearing in Polish cities wearing dark navy uniforms deliberately resembling those of the police. From a distance, many people could easily mistake them for law enforcement. Across their backs is the word "POLSKA", with "Narodowa Straż Kamracka" written underneath.

The group is linked to the Rodacy Kamraci movement led by Wojciech Olszański ("Jaszczur") and Marcin Osadowski - a movement widely known for anti-Ukrainian rhetoric, antisemitism, and the promotion of pro-Kremlin narratives.

Their members march through the streets, recruit supporters, and use nationalist slogans that many Poles view as intimidation rather than patriotism.

This should concern everyone. Democracies cannot allow extremist organizations to blur the line between themselves and legitimate law enforcement while spreading hatred and fear.

History has shown where political militias and extremist movements can lead. Poland - and Europe - should take this seriously.

Major Juozas Tomkus (1896–1940) was one of the architects of the 1923 Klaipėda Revolt, serving as its Chief of Staff, an operation that secured Lithuania's only seaport and strengthened its independence. Fake Neutrality.

Two-time Russian Olympian Vladimir Goncharov is fighting against Ukraine as part of the 1487th Motorized Rifle Regiment.

This regiment participated in the destruction of residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in the Pokrovsk direction, which may qualify as a war crime.

It is also worth noting that Goncharov himself understands that the fact of his service destroys the narrative about “innocent Russian athletes” whom the IOC considers “neutral.”
“I try to turn away from the cameras when someone comes to film us. In my sport, I am quite a well-known person. If I end up in the frame somewhere, I think it will be the end for all Russian sports. They’ll say that Russian athletes are also participating in the war. We still haven’t washed off the doping scandal, and now this too,” Goncharov said after his mobilization.

It seems that the only side that fails to understand that Russian sport is part of the Russian Federation’s military machine is the IOC and international federations. Despite the involvement of Russian athletes in propaganda and even their direct participation in aggressive actions, these organizations are already actively bringing back not only Russian athletes and the Russian Olympic Committee, but also all Russian symbols to the world sports arenas.

Once again, it is worth reminding everyone that Russian athletes are guilty and must be isolated from the international sports arena.
We should also call on the governments of other countries not to issue visas to Russian athletes who support the war or who are part of Russian propaganda (that is, absolutely all members of the Russian national teams).
