@NeilShenvi@DannySlavich The common posture of “You’re so blind, you need Jesus” towards the left was well corrected by Keller’s approach. Not sure if such a correction towards the right has occurred at that same level, e.g. a Keller who quotes unChristian right-leaning sources
@mitchellchase Connects with what Lewis calls us: hybrids of spirit and flash. Acknowledging our psychosomatic nature that our spirit(?) impacts our health.
Curious on the other part if you see a connection between light/eyes and the sermon on the mount’s discussion regarding generosity?
@SunPower Hey @SunPower your system has been great until last summer, and it’s been two months since the tech came out and still no update from your team. Can you help me out?
@jeffrendell@CAHutch1990 Curious, what did Dr. Frame push back on? I’d agree that voting is important, but not as important as what some make it out to be.
@MikeCosper "Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed." - G.K. Chesterton (supposedly)
@awhager A devastating drought on the Colorado has been anticipated for over 100 years. How to deal with supply shortages was determined a long time ago via the Law of the River. Now that it's here, those last in line to get water are acting like droughts are a 21st century development...
@ByIanJames@Gastropodcast@nicolatwilley@cagraber@robodellaz I’ve listened to three of the six so far. Very solid reporting. 👍 I do wish there would be some references to California scientists who argue alfalfa is the best crop for droughts, in terms of calorie produced per drop of water, and flexible water schedules.
I can't fathom how the six states want to permanently fallow some of the best farm land in the world, has been for more than a hundred years, to protect CAP which requires a 2900 ft lift, is an ecological/energy disaster and was struggling to find a use for the water in 2004.
@_matthewpearson I took an intro to philosophy at a Cal State school: one student was upset that we only studied Plato/Descartes and arguments for the existence of God. Prof was like: “Hmm, we study great philosophers and I guess none of them argued the opposite.”
@MegStEsprit@jennystojkovic Globally, 70-80% of water use is directed towards crops and livestock. That’s the standard, not the scandal. We can improve that with new water tech, but a population that limits its food production water use to <50% is no doubt at the mercy of others who grow their food for them
"But Tom Buschatzke argued that his state agreed to take junior rights to river water back in 1968, before climate change was known to be a factor in shrinking the river’s flow"
AZ knew full well the #ColoradoRiver was massively overallocated in 1964

@Sammy_Roth@bartfisher@whereishayley@ByIanJames Imagine buying a house and the next guys does the same but over a known sink hole and then he complains that property laws are “legal but not moral” and demands that you lose 30% of your property to support him.
