v0.2 of Vortex Alpha is live!
v0.1 helped test the core governance flow. v0.2 builds on that with a cleaner and more consistent interface across the app.
The new version has:
* clearer navigation for Governance, Institutions, and System
* redesigned Feed and Proposal cards
* updated Formation project cards with status, budget, milestones, and team info
* cleaner My Governance and Profile pages
* a simpler Invision dashboard for system health
* a new Fire theme, along with Sky, Light, and Night
Vortex is still in Alpha. v0.2 mainly focuses on making the app easier to move through, easier to read, and more consistent across pages.

Dev Log 16 is out.
This one is mostly invisible from the outside, but it’s one of the biggest updates so far. Over the past month, a lot of Vortex was refactored so the system is easier to read, audit, and keep building without piling more logic into the wrong places. @everyone
The main shift is simple: smaller files, clearer boundaries, less duplication, and more reusable governance logic across both server and web. The behavior stays the same, but the foundation underneath it is much cleaner now.

Hey everyone, we have our weekly Humanode Community Call this Thursday.
This week, Vortex will be part of the conversation, and we’re also expecting major updates on projects and the wider ecosystem.
Some updates are shared directly on these calls before they reach anywhere else, so if you want the fuller picture, this is a good one to join.
You can also hop on stage and ask the founders your questions directly. And if you’re shy, at work, or just not in the mood to talk, text questions are totally fine, too.
Hope to see you there.

🎨 Make Humanode Click: Infographic Contest!
Have you been waiting for the next Humanode contest? Here it is.
We want to see how well you can explain one specific part of Humanode through an infographic.
One rule, though: no "one human = one node = one vote" infographics. That one is a no-go area this time. You have to go a little deeper.
Pick one Humanode concept you like, or are most impressed by. It can be about the Humanode ecosystem, Biomapper, BotBasher, Vortex governance, PoBU, CVMs, Sybil resistance, or anything else that made you think, "Okay, now this makes sense."
AI tools are allowed. Sloppy AI work is not.
Prizes
* 3 winners: $50 each, through Sybil-resistant voting
* 3 special mentions: $10 each, picked by the Humanode team
* 1 exceptional entry: $50 founders' prize
Where to post: Share your infographic on X, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, or Instagram. Tag @humanode_io or use $HMND. Then drop the link in # humanodes-got-talent in Humanode Discord.
🗓️ Starts Friday, May 15, 2026. Deadline: Friday, May 29, 2026.

As part of our regular server reset, the CVMs behind Humanode chain, Biomapper, and BotBasher has been refreshed.
These resets are done to wipe previously stored biometric-linked data, refresh the system, and start with updated infrastructure and security.
They also give everyone a fresh chance to re-link the right account or address where needed.
Reminder: If you have not done it yet, please complete the new cycle:
• Re-authenticate your human node
• Biomap on Biomapper
• Re-verify on BotBasher

Dear Human Nodes,
With the launch of the Vortex Simulator (or proto-Vortex) and the invitation for Human Nodes to begin their journey toward participating as governors of Humanode - holding voting power in Humanode’s decisions and gaining a real voice in its future - we will be implementing several changes to the fee structure.
Please note that those who become governors will also gain a voice in future decisions concerning fee structures.
First and foremost, the fee structure for validators who complete 42/42 epochs will remain the same.
The subsidy structure for liquid validators will also remain in place and will continue to operate under the following caps:
• Cap 1: a maximum of 150,000 HMND per month (thus a maximum of 37,500 HMND per week)
• Cap 2: a maximum of 7,500 USD per month worth of HMND (thus a maximum of 1,875 USD per week worth of HMND)
• Cap 3: a fee-rate cap of x100 of the naturally collected fees from the chain
For each period, the lowest of these caps will be the one that takes effect.
For example, if the chain accumulates 1,476 HMND in naturally collected fees in a month, then under Cap 3 the effective cap becomes 147,600 HMND. Since this is lower than the 150,000 HMND cap, then 147,600 HMND is the cap that takes effect for that period.
It is important to note that in the liquid validator set, your position matters. The fewer epochs you miss in a week, the higher you will rank in the list.
Validator polls will be discontinued.
# Governance participation and reward
In addition to the validator subsidy structure described above, active governors in Vortex will receive the equivalent of 25 USD in HMND for governance participation, provided they meet the required conditions.
This governor reward is separate from the validator subsidy structure.
To be eligible for this governance reward, a Human Node must satisfy the required conditions for active participation in governance.
This is not an easy task. In order to become a governor, a Human Node would need to have their proposal accepted in Vortex, maintain voting participation above the required threshold, and remain active in governance.
Therefore:
• validators continue to be ranked and subsidized under the existing capped validator fee structure, and
• active governors who fulfill their governance requirements receive a separate 25 USD-equivalent HMND governance reward.
As Vortex evolves, there will be further changes, and those participating in Vortex will have the right - and the duty - to take part in the discussions and voting that shape its future.
Vortex Dev Log 11 is out.
This one makes a few important parts of the simulator feel much more real. Delegation is now visible and easier to understand, proposal outcomes now actually end where they should, and chamber votes stay open for a real voting window instead of feeling over too early.
There’s also a broader hardening pass across proposal pages, routing, feeds, and live product behavior as we keep tightening things before release.

Catacomb Crawlers just went live.
ARPG roguelike survivor: procedural dungeons, resource scavenging, hero builds that matter - one wrong call and you're done.
Arguably the best-looking game in the genre right now. And it's on Humanode.
Community Call is tomorrow, Saturday, March 14, 13:00 UTC.
We’re discussing Humanode Charter Article 11: Courts + the Humanode Codex.
Also, as we have launched Vortex to Alpha v0.2. We’ll be testing it live on the call, and would love any suggestions or bug reports as we go.
Vortex Dev Sim Logs 8 and 9 are out, and this round is mostly about tightening the system after Alpha went live.
A lot of fixes landed around proposal transitions, chamber voting behavior, formation lifecycle flows, and governor status reliability under real user activity. Proposal pages now follow stage transitions automatically, and each stage change keeps a snapshot of the metrics and context that triggered it.
In short: fewer rough edges, clearer proposal state changes, and a more stable environment for testing.
