Obama helped raise tens of millions for Democrats, has direct access to party leadership, privately urged Biden to reconsider his 2024 run, and Biden withdrew days later. You don’t need the authority to sign an order to wield political power.

the obvious factual distinction is that millions of Americans can express an opinion; very few can personally get a president on the phone, headline eight-figure fundraisers, or supply presidential campaigns with senior strategists. That’s the meaningful difference in the kind of influence you’re talking about
