@HistoryKE Actually, Kenya (in the form of the East African Protectorate) has had paper money since 1905. This image of a 1905 Mombasa 5 Rupee is from Owen Linzmeyer's excellent reference 'The Banknote Book'. The highest denomination of that series was 1,000 rupees.
