@JosephBenJ2@SimonSimplicio my dude, my guy—we’re all made in His image and likeness. we’re only capable of love because of that. God alone loves like God, but He not only invites us to try—He straight up commands us to. each person is infinitely special, because they are His and He doesn’t create in vain.
@JosephBenJ2@SimonSimplicio an infant that never stops looking up at his mother for sustenance and tender loving care is, by that same logic, “just an experience created by God”. the
mother isn’t all that special. neither does she choose the child she has nor does the child choose his mother.
@CatholicPods i think he’s well aware of present day america’s shortcomings, as well as its strengths. that he chooses to prioritize a more global (idk maybe even universal) approach to his role, speaks volumes about how the Holy Spirit is directing him.

meaning, either the church’s perception of people is flawed or God severely fucked up by making too many humans. and the thing is He didn’t. as frustrating and as baffling as other people are, they’re still His creation. they’re still His children. we are His children.
If you don't like my view on this matter, go complain to the Doctors of the Church, who are, to my knowledge, unanimous on this point:
“Those who are saved are in the minority” - St Thomas Aquinas
“Not all, nor even a majority, are saved.” - St Augustine
“The greater part of men choose to be damned” - St Alphonsus
“Do not follow the majority of mankind [who are damned]” - St Anselm
things like this, for example, just really frustrate me—i’m not gonna engage Romy bc they don’t really care bc they’re making money off engagements—and anyway, the point is that the hard truth is that wealthy people absolutely depend upon knowing about poor people’s lives.
and to be clear, i put the quotes there for a reason. meaning, i don’t know all that much about ‘liberalism’ but i know enough about the school to prison pipeline to know that most white americans aren’t compassionate enough to make it to heaven if they keep their shit up.
genuinely what pisses me off is that compassion and “liberalism” seem to be conflated by people who are well meaning but don’t know enough about the world and satan/how evil takes a hold of people when they think they’ve conquered it and are adamant other’s should listen to them.
satan is silent. his vile ass thrives within pockets of unexplored righteousness and his influence spreads from there, convincing the faithful of a myriad of falsehoods.
He is not a tyrant. stop and let that sink in.
