@hetwo3 @MissouriMTG Final point cedh is a niche within a niche. I vended the largest cedh tournament ever at the time lotuscon2 and the nashville top deck invitational a little while ago, large events and they are with respect to wayne, less impactful than the worst scgs I've been to by a mile.
@hetwo3 @MissouriMTG How often do they have to buy cards. 5 times a year and only one particular foil chase rare in only the most expensive rarity they probably get from a vendor friend not an lgs. I play cedh, I vend for a living, and I play 60 card. I not saying this because I think it, I know it.
@hetwo3 @MissouriMTG In just recently memory to stay competitive in modern I've bought Rhinos a couple grand, Nadu a few hundred, breach, frog, energy, etc etc the 60 cards formats are way more expensive to participate in folks just see mox fields numbers and tweak out.
@hetwo3 @MissouriMTG No chance. I bought Opus Thief entirely, during the time tymna and kraum came out and every year maybe I buy one or two insane breach type cards less than 50 bucks a pop. maybe up to 3 in a year at most and the deck is the best deck ever in the format it isnt close.
@NicoleTipple@DragonShield_ I bought a brand new box for the boil and by top 16 I had 4 splits and the judge determined all my sleeves were soooo scuffed and messed up they couldn't be marked bc they were ALL in terrible condition.
@spuki__ I agree that the card is not a problem in cedh, but from memory it's one of the only truly two card combos in the format that doesn't require terrible cards in your deck.
@KaylaDMTG I agree with this take. OBM, being in the format, makes cards like careful study such a major blowout. Like sure, goryos vengeance turns two put into Play atraxa is gross, but there is still a game of magic to be played after that.
Played a really fun RCQ with this list and had a decent result losing in the semi-finals. The deck feels powerful with a couple of tweaks to answer the slick shot show-off decks I could see playing this until the meta changes.

@masoneclark I was tweaking, I had bad signal, and I ended up making a change to my decklist bc of it. I couldn't figure out why i was coming to only 59 and ended up adding a md blot out. When I got my paper list, I went over my list and realized I had trimmed a one of land due to input lag.
Pov, you top deck this while opponent is clearly holding up leyline binding little do they know this mf cannot be targeted bc they haven't memorized the ancient script. Bean this causal.
