So Trump is mulling axing the FDIC, apparently they don’t want our money insured. They pass that law and there will be a run on banks like we haven’t seen since 1930 when the run began in Tennessee and spread across the country.

Bank runs would lead to higher interest rates to insure the bank could get some cash on hand.

It would lead to riskier lending practices to generate deposits.

It would also lead to a drastic drop in consumer spending as people will want to hold on to their money.

Then the government would have to either save some banks or let them fail, but more regulations would be required and thus adding more costs to banking activities.

Cancelling the FDIC is something only an idiot administration would ever consider.
