Well this is quite something 🤯
An actual MP telling me, a male homosexual, I’m “attacking” an oppressed group for not believing that men can be lesbians and women can be gay men
Samantha, there is nothing ‘strange’ about simply acknowledging what homosexuality is and isn’t. In fact it is imperative we do so to protect our rights
Para 204 of the Supreme Court ruling makes it very clear that the protected characteristic of sexual orientation is based on sex
Para 206 makes it very clear that this PC, and thus homosexuality, is rendered meaningless when not recognised as being based on sex
If you recognise that gays and lesbians and bisexuals are an oppressed group who still face adversity, how can we stand up for ourselves if simply acknowledging what homosexuality is gets us framed as “attackers”?
How can we even begin to tackle the modern version of adversity that seeks to reframe homosexuality to include those of the opposite sex? That has seen lesbians having to go to court in the UK and Australia simply to maintain the legal recognition of homosexuality (or in the case of Australia find a way to claw it back)? That has seen a lesbian brought to tears at a tribunal when asked why males can’t be lesbians?
How on earth can you take issue with me saying that men can’t be lesbians???
And how can you claim to be aware of the historic fight for gay rights while not having any awareness (or lacking the courage to acknowledge it) of how for at least the last decade these have been under threat from ‘gender’?
Don’t pretend to know our struggle if you can’t even say what a homosexual is
I mean… seriously!
1. Women’s spaces are for women. It’s irrelevant how the women look.
2. Men don’t belong in women’s spaces. It’s irrelevant how the men look.
3. Most trans-identified men would give at least one ball to look like Sharron Davies.
Peter & Alan.
Many of us LGB have been warning you for YEARS that this was happening.
We told you there are huge problems ahead, as gender ideology is in direct contradiction to being same-sex attracted.
We told you to stop involving other people’s children.
We told you SO MANY LGB people are sick & tired of being tethered to ideological cheerleaders for Queer Theory.
We told you the homophobia was coming from within the house.
We told you the blatant misogyny would have repercussions.
You all turned a blind eye.
You didn’t listen.
You said “No Debate.”
You branded us ‘bigots’.
Why are you NOW feigning surprise that there is a renewed backlash?
You CAUSED this.
2015. What changed??
Think hard.
@JohnSlinger@SamanthaNiblet4 Oh John - pity you are so indifferent to women’s rights. No wonder nobody will vote for you - so far up Kier’s backside. You are an embarrassment to your constituents and prefer men’s rights to women
This is the man who called me transphobic for pointing out that he was a bloke in a wig. He wasted police time reporting me for a non crime hate incident. The local Labour Party held a protest in town about me.
Absolutely ridiculous.
He is a bloke in a wig.
I’ll tell you something.
If my sister/niece/mother had been spoken to in that manner by a manager, & they tried the “don’t be abusive” line to a perfectly reasonable question, before walking away dismissively mid-discussion, he’d have received a full-size mannequin up his jacksy…
@marksandspencer
This. If it was about wanting somewhere safe and private to pee, third spaces would be fine. It’s not. It’s about claiming territory, validation, and winning.
Dominating, intimidating and humiliating women is the point.
Follow the logic.
Women are deluded and naive for thinking predatory and violent men can be kept out of women-only spaces. ‘They can rape you anywhere.’
However, trans-identified men can only be safe in women-only spaces, because no abuser would ever follow them in there.
When women feel unsafe sharing spaces with men that's the product of hysteria and bigotry.
When men feel unsafe sharing spaces with other men, that's reasonable and accommodations must be found.
That's what got us here, mate.
As @sarahditum says, hard to think of a clearer example of the Manosphere than two men lecturing a woman about what a woman is and why she’s wrong to care about women’s rights
Why doesn’t this BBC story examine why there’s a market for fathers selling their young daughters to other men in the first place? What a strange omission - it’s like the reality that these girls are being sold as child brides to be raped by adult men is invisible or something.
Six lazy lions lounge in a line.
Photographer Daniel Dolpire captured this surreal moment during a group safari in Serengeti National Park.
“I have been taking wildlife photos for over 20 years, but this has got to be my most special moment” Dolpire said.
lIf you do anything today, watch @MaeveHalligan at the Cambridge Union. I genuinely think this was the first time many people in that room were confronted with the hard reality of the trans debate, rather than the slogans that usually surround it.
@BuckAngel was exceptional: calm, articulate, humane. Ultimate respect.
And then there was Helen Webberley. I remember once thinking the criticism directed at her by GC women was excessive, especially the claim she was ‘pure evil’. After hearing her speak, I no longer think that. She is totally insincere. I can deal with hard ideologues- they believe they are telling the truth; they are genuine, @HelenWebberley is different.
One audience member, a trans-identified male and former patient of hers, stood to speak during points of information. His account of how he had been treated was deeply disturbing.
Watch the full debate. It is worth your time.
