Bharatiya Doorsanchar Manch (BDM) writes to CMD BSNL – Strong protest against the Suspension of Sports Activities:

Bharatiya Doorsanchar Manch (BDM) – A joint forum comprising AIGETOA, BTEU, BDPS, AIBSNLOBCEWA, STEWA, FNTOBEA, and BTU has issued a strong protest letter to the @CMDBSNL against the recent suspension of sports activities across the organization.

#BSNL Management has justified the suspension on grounds of financial austerity. The rationale behind this decision is contrary especially when BSNL reported a net profit of ₹262 crore in Q3 FY 2024–25 after a 17-years gap.

BDM raised the below concerns on the suspension :

1] Contradiction to National Initiatives: The decision is contrary to the vision of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi’s “Fit India” and “Khelo India” initiatives that promote fitness and indigenous sports.

2] Impact on BSNL’s Reputation & Morale: #BSNL has historically supported national and international level athletes and ranks 6th among 50 PSUs in All India Public Sector Sports Control Board rankings.

3] Alternative Austerity Suggestions: BDM asserts that enough scope for austerity measures are there if management analyses the expenditure made in Last year right from BSNL CO to offices of CGMs, PGMs and BA Heads. Much greater savings can be made by reducing these expenditures rather than suspending employee welfare programs like sports.

4] Disrespect to Players: The suspension disregards the achievements of #BSNL sportspersons who have brought laurels to the organization and to the nation.

Bharatiya Doorsanchar Manch demands immediate withdrawal of the letter suspending sports activities. Restoration of all ongoing and future BSNL sports and welfare programs.

AIGETOA CHQ Team meets Hon'ble MoC:

Meeting of Team AIGETOA and BTEU with Hon'ble MoC held today. Hon'ble MP from Telangana Shri Eatala Rajender Ji and BMS National Secretary Shri Ramnath Ganeshe Ji were also present. Discussions held on long pending HR issues including issue of standard pay scales of E2-E3, 3rd PRC, Pending Promotions across all cadres, 30 Percent SAB, Revision of TA/DA/Allowances and Pension Revision etc. As directed, issue wise details were submitted to Hon'ble MoC. Hon'ble MoC assured for his intervention in settling out the long pending HR issues. GS AIGETOA conveyed that all employees are standing firmly for the growth and development of @BSNLCorporate including the expeditious roll out of #BSNL4G. At the same time, we highlighted that employees of #BSNL despite their commitment and dedication to the cause of the nation have been deprived of their basic issues of Pay, Pension and Promotions and requested for his blessings on setting the pending issues. Team AIGETOA/BTEU also presented Hon'ble MoC with Shawl, Bouquet and Momento.
