From 12/12/23 to 12/23/23, our department conducted a special operation to combat retail thefts in Lenexa. This operation comprised personnel from our various units including our K9 Unit, Bike Unit, Directed Patrol Unit, Uniform Patrol, and Dispatch. Together, these individuals worked to saturate the high-density shopping areas around W. 95th Street and Quivira, including officers in an undercover role.

As a result of this operation, 48 individuals were arrested. Charges included theft, felony theft, possession of stolen property, distribution of narcotics (fentanyl), possession of narcotics, counterfeiting, child endangerment, and DUI. We also recovered 3 firearms and 2 stolen vehicles. Numerous individuals were also arrested who were wanted on outstanding warrants.

Our department will continue to monitor crime patterns in our community and work to combat them through normal patrol and investigative procedures, as well as the use of special operations.
