@Erebuss Je pense me souvenir d'une ou deux scènes du film mais entre elles, je pense effectivement que j'étais dans les vapes. On ne tenait déjà plus l'alcool à l'époque...
The way that Jensen Huang runs Nvidia is wild:
40 direct reports, no 1:1s
- Believes that the flattest org is the most empowering one, and that starts with the top layer
- Does not conduct 1:1s - everything happens in a group setting
- Does not give career advice - "None of my management team is coming to me for career advice - they already made it, they're doing great"
No status reports, instead he "stochastically samples the system"
- Doesn't use status updates because he believes they are too refined by the time they get to him. They are not ground truth anymore.
- Instead, anyone in the company can email him their "top five things" with whatever is top of mind, and he will read it
- Estimates he reads 100 of these everyone morning
Everyone has all the context, all the time
- No meetings with just VPs or just Directors - anyone can join and contribute
- "If you have a strategic direction, why tell just one person?"
- "If there is something I don't like, I just say it publicly"
- "I do a lot of reasoning out loud"
No formal planning cycles
- No 5 year plan, no 1 year plan
- Always re-evaluating based on changing business and market conditions (helpful when AI is developing at the pace that it is)
This org is optimized for (1) attracting amazing people, (2) keeping the team as small as it can be, and (3) allowing information to travel as quickly as possible
$100 client: Send me the package, can I get light and dark mode? How about a free design sample before we start? While we are waiting, can you walk my dog?
$4,000 client: How can I pay? You can charge me before the call. Take your time, I can wait!
Doctolib handles 250k queries per second (QPS) at peak [1].
Seems like a lot, right?
So I compared with Shopify, which handles 14 million QPS [2].
56 times more.
The scales are at a different order of magnitude 🤯.

@svpino I've been managing teams for 4+ years. All hated Scrum. I never forced them to adopt any practices but they all ended up adopting most once they realized the "Why". If not understood, it will not work. Reading you, you were pushed while clearly missing the Why.
Change manager!
A live presentation where the speaker is only reading their text without adding a bit of themselves is frustrating and feels like a waste of time.
I can read myself!
When you want to share knowledge, you might have to choose between different formats: a post, a video or a live presentation.
Pick the one that fits the best what you want to achieve but also maximize the benefits offered by each format.
A live presentation is an amazing format to provide more interactivity. With that format, people usually expect to also see a human with all their emotions ☀️
But availability and navigability is the worst.
LLM hacking is becoming a huge problem.
Malicious images and sounds can now be used to modify the behavior of LLMs.
They can even be embedded in a website or email attachment.
Another recent paper showed that adversarial suffixes can disrupt the behavior of open source LLMs and transfer to ChatGPT, Claude, Bard, and LLaMA-2.
Shopify is the best-converting platform in the 🌎. Period. And… we can prove it.
Today, we're sharing results from a Big Three global management consulting firm, and the data speaks for itself: "Shopify converts up to 36% better than the competition and 15% more on average"
Not building with Shopify is now a competitive liability.

@rmaziere_85@lea_linux Je vous ça de plus en plus et je pense que c'est lié à la dernière version d'ITP. Garder le même domaine permet de simplifier le tracking et de limiter les risques d'un cookie identifié comme 3P.
Boss: I need X in 3 weeks.
You: To do this right X will take 4-6 weeks.
Boss: What if you don’t do it right.
You: Then X will take 7-20 weeks.
Boss: Unacceptable, it must be 3 weeks.
You: I can give you Y in 2-3 weeks.
@chethendrickson More as a communication tool than as a velocity tracking tool. Still helps the team to ensure they have a common understanding of what has to be done.
