Are you interested in understanding public opinions of conservation? Come and do a PhD with me and @_JanetFisher! We have a new opportunity for a UKRI-funded studentship as part of the Edinburgh E4 DTP. Deadline 7th January. More info here: https://t.co/5t3UIUgv6c
Self-sovereign identity solutions havent taken root because people have been too focused on building elaborate governance structures or building centralised businesses using decentralised technologies. We need to move past this.

@EJSbrocco As long as you were nice about it, I am sure the teacher appreciates the correction over letting her say the wrong thing for the next ten years!
@ScienceofPets I always think about close human-wildlife and domestic animal-wildlife interactions captured in the public imagination (lion hugging a person, elephant playing with a sheep, etc) and how that affects conservation behavior. The effects of romanticizing of wildlife.
@Alyssa_Milano This whole thread is so depressing. How can we live in the same world and have extremely opposed experiences of the same guy?! We cannot fix this if what we consider reality differs this much between us. I feel defeated.
@DrAndrewV2 @jesswade My limited brain was asking a similar thing 😅. Thankfully there is someone that knows their shit and can show me the way. Thanks!
@NessaRS@mollyfitz Omg! This happened for years to me. It was terrifying. It would jump on the bed, walk around me and later lay/seat against me. I could not open my eyes to look at it, I thought it was a child or a small demon. Maybe just a cat and I was being dramatic . I’m happy it’s gone.
@LISafterclass Thank you. I’ve heard so many people worried about how others will “take advantage of the situation”, your reply is a breath of fresh air and rebuilds my trust in humanity.
@summerbrennan We got accepted to run a workshop at IUCN, this is huge in my field, and it just got moved to January, not sure it will happen now. This was just one of the many events we lost 😔
@ByrneNick Yes! I hope so. Less pollution, less wasted time commuting, more time outside (have you seen the national parks in the US?, so crowded!). People want to be outside and with family, and now they know they can and still be productive at work.
