If you look around your organization, you’ll be able to distinguish the missionaries from the mercenaries. It’s fine to have talented mercenaries on the team, they will work hard when properly motivated. But when building a leadership team, always hire and promote missionaries.

I know this may seem self interested, but I actually think that @twitter could help the effort to combat COVID19 by setting up a small group at the company to verify a few dozen (or hundred?) scientists who are sending out reliable information.
Our hospital floor is full and we need open beds for the imminent COVID surge.
But multiple patients of mine can’t leave the hospital because they’re awaiting prior auths from commercial insurers.
Insurance companies are clogging up the system in the middle of a damn pandemic.

We are deeply saddened that faculty member Professor Stephen Schwartz passed away due to a COVID-19 infection.
