From my experience, after some hours of combat I tended to hyper focus on the indicators, making most combat scenarios feel samey.
With it off you have to really pay attention to every enemies move set.

Daggerfall has a huge completely empty map, same as just cause 3.

Rockstar should not aim to do the same, it's wasting budget. They are better of using that budget to make a dense, lived in map.
