@BrittanyFerries why is your loading policy so indiscriminate and unfair? You arrive early but are loaded after people who come at the last minute. No information, staff unhelpful and disinterested. Rubbish.
@SW_Help First class on the 1920 W’loo - Exeter is full of (loud, heavy drinking) self-declared non-FC ticket holders (assuming they’ve any ticket). Why don’t on-train staff check tickets? No ticket check at all on 1136 Sherborne- W’loo earlier. Easy revenue just being ignored.
@SW_Help Thank you for the response. The guard west of Salisbury did walk through the coach to go to the toilet and then walked back to lock himself in the rear cab and presumably read a book or play on his phone (if allowed one). It’s only public money so doesn’t seem to matter.
@GWRHelp i hadn’t realised before how awful your service is. I am on 1A24 from BTM and its awful. Running 35” late so the signaller sets a route for 5U12 across the throat at Swindon. And that train doesn’t move. Neither do we. The minutes rack up. Does anyone care?
@DavidHorne And I should have said that your on-train staff did their utter best as usual, it was the station that was deserted. No need to reply, please concentrate on sorting things out and best wishes to all your staff.
@DavidHorne David, I know you’ll be having a tough evening but please can LNER tell our daughter, trapped at Grantham for 3 hours en route to Newark what she should do. No trains / staff / info / buses / taxis, can’t get to a hotel. What do LNER expect a young woman to do?
@DavidHorne Thanks for reply. In the end we managed to get someone ro drive to Grantham to give her a lift to Newark. I know these incidents can be v difficult and the ECML has always been a special challenge with disruption but the industry surely has to improve, not get worse.
@Gary36198 @DavidHorne I doubt that very much. Knowing David he’ll be doing what he can to help get things going but tonight LNER is just awful and approaching being dangerous.
@LNER my daughter is at Grantham trying to get to Newark from London. Three hours late, hundreds of people turfed off trains, no info, no staff, no management or leadership, no buses, no taxis. This is not safe for anyone, let alone a young single woman . What are you doing?
@SW_Help Really good to see proactive revenue control on both the 0756 Sherborne-Waterloo and 1520 Waterloo- Exeter today. On board staff on both were a credit to SWR.
@Captain_Deltic@holdmch@CastledineAndy@travelling_wolf If only it was that simple! When a symbiotic relationship between a supplier and customer doesn’t work, it is rarely if ever all down to one party. Why did RT, and does NR, find big supplier management so hard? Over the last 25 yrs suppliers have got better at “managing” this…
@Captain_Deltic@holdmch@CastledineAndy@travelling_wolf Funnily enough I remember this! Competition is great to drive down prices, but it hinders capacity utilisation and drives its own behaviour. Eg asset utilisation or business development of ‘not-straightforward’ traffic. You can’t have it all, it depends on your priorities!
@holdmch@CastledineAndy@Captain_Deltic@travelling_wolf Oddly I think much depends on GBR - engineering work for FOC revenue and how the access/charging/performance systems develop & are operated. In a sane world I think you would see FOC consolidation to help the squeeze between GBR & customers/intermediaries.
@holdmch@CastledineAndy@Captain_Deltic@travelling_wolf Michael, Freight has been close to non-reinvestable on paper for many years, but so far it has not stopped investment. The cake barely grows overall, the FOCs juggle for bigger slices of what there is.
