Rare for me , but i just wanted to say something from the heart ... I've worked with Jimmy a fair bit over recent months , assisting him practice ( that's posh for taking the balls out during practice routines ) and reffing private matches for him. Like everyone at JWSL ( Jimmy's new club ) I'm gutted about last night . At 63 , indeed 64 next month , I echo the words of a post I saw on here last night from @CuePowerBlog , "show me another 63 year old that can play as well as he does . He's a class act "
He's got time for everyone, never says no to a selfie , he's a joy to be around and is always happy to give anyone a game . He plays in our handicaps at JWSL giving decent players massive starts , often winning . Pictured here, Jimmy had just played a local postie , Paul , who told me ,he will treasure the experience for ever .. along with his Dad, who proudly watched on.
I've seen at first hand why this man is the people's champion and I for one am hugely proud of our boss , our hero and the legend , Jimmy 'Whirlwind' White. ✨️♥️

Brentwood Town 3-0 Welling United – Isuzu FA Trophy

A brace by Benas Vaivada was enough to help advance Brentwood into the Second Round Proper over Welling United.
The Blues started strongly and came marginally close into taking an early lead after Charlee Hughes dispossessed The Wings’ backline and chipped Kai Mckenzie-Lyle from 35 yards out, only to see his effort strike the far post - agonisingly close.
It was soon 1-0 though 11 minutes in as Danny Ogunleye netted his eigth goal of the campaign as he capitalised off the footwork of Mckenzie-Lyle and laid a pass onto Hughes at byline, before firing his effort down middle of net to put the Blues ahead.
Welling captain Jack Paxman had an opportunity to equalise the visitors with his edge of the box strike forcing the gloves of Melvin Minter, before Vaivada doubled the lead at the other end of field as he was on hand to nod home from Ogunleye's cross.
Paxman looked to restore a goal back for the Wings’ and picked up a loose ball before his effort rolled beyond the far post.
Vaivada secured his second of the afternoon moments into the second half as he tapped home a squared delivery.
Welling experienced an immediate chance to respond with attempts from Eze Ebuzoeme met by a goal line clearance from the Brentwood backline.
In the closing stages an effort from Ruben Shakpoke who was found through on goal was denied by the stretched save of Minter, which saw the Blues through with a clean sheet.
Brentwood Town return to league action this Tuesday as they travel to take on Cray Valley Paper Mills at the Artic Stadium with a 7:45pm kick-off.

Only 18pts or 6 wins away from Premier Division safety, not bad for little old Brentwood Town who were relegation candidates before a ball
was kicked.
I eat, sleep and drink things off the field and promised we’d give it a go in this new league and today we extend our unbeaten start to 8 matches.
I’ve had worse Saturdays 😉
