Our football analyst @bordenfb4ever has recorded his own very touching audio tribute to his dear friend Greg Tufaro. It's in our original story, found at the link.

Greg Tufaro left us too soon, but his remarkable impact will last.
On the life and legacy of a mentor (of mine, and many others) who helped thousands of kids:

Greg Tufaro hired me 29 years ago, when I was still in college, and that changed the course of my life. He opened doors, pushed me forward and supported me always. But Greg was more than a mentor - he was someone who genuinely cared about people. I owe him more than I could ever put into a tweet. And I wish I could tell him that one more time. Thank you for believing in me, Greg. I’ll carry that with me always. Rest easy, my friend. https://t.co/dDSRaXCDMM
After donating half a million dollars to assist pediatric patients and children in need across Middlesex County, The Marisa Tufaro Foundation announces today with eternal gratitude and profound appreciation it has officially ended its charitable mission. https://t.co/lMGg76RFzV
The Saint Joseph community mourns the passing of Gregory Tufaro ’85, a devoted alumnus, Athletics Hall of Famer and longtime supporter of Saint Joe’s.
Our prayers are with his wife, Cyndi, extended family and friends.
A Falcon Forever 💚
With all the changes, getting recruited is seemingly harder than ever.
But after owning a training facility for 10+ years and interacting with 1,000s of players, the average student-athlete doesn’t actually want to work hard. They want to look like they work hard.
Mindless social flex reps/games - “grinding” post.
Difficult ugly reps/games exposing weakness - nah I’m good.
Knowing this creates such an opportunity. Kids willing to embrace the failure (the ugly) are actually competing against far fewer people than they think.
Pete Crow-Armstrong says being locked in 100% of the time isn’t elite focus, it’s a shortcut to burnout
“You’ve got to be excited to go out there every inning. It’s important to take some moments off, not take pitches off, but the time in between pitches.”
“If nobody’s on… I’m letting my mind wander. I’m looking up into the bleachers… Seeing who’s there.”
“You’ve got to check out sometimes… So you can lock it back in.”
“If you are locked in 100% of the time… You’ll burn out in a couple weeks.”
“Other sports don’t have the luxury of our pace of play. It’s a different motor for sure.”
After losing 85 innings from the previous season, Denison relied on all 20 pitchers on its staff to post a 3.14 team ERA, finish the season 51-3, and win the program's first ever National Championship.
Ryne Romick shares his insight into why relentless coaching, constant improvement, and self-driven athletes are at the core of that success.

Travel baseball often misses the mark.
The goal isn't to be the best 13-year-old. It's to be the best 18-year-old.
But if 13- and 14-year-olds are playing 120+ games a year, when do they have time to build the strength, speed, power, and athleticism that separates players later on?
Competition reveals ability.
Training develops it.
If we're always competing, when are we developing?

Seeing more of this, too many hitters over cook the top hand. We do a grip drill that practices this and many hitters choose the pinky off as their regular.
One of the hardest ideas to communicate is SPIN RATE! Batting practice from an arm simply can't simulate the spin. It's why machines are becoming more and more popular.
A shout out to @DMEASrecruiting!
The Task, The Organism and The Environment must always be considered.
When you play for mastery - you play to win THE game.
When you play for ego - you play to win A game.
For the most part, parents/adults care about A game. And they pass this down to their kids. Ego over everything for most.
Nobody gets less of a break from playing games than athletes ages 13-17, and it is completely ass backwards.
Pros take more rest than teenagers.
playing tournaments Tuesday through Sunday out of a hotel is a pretty tough environment to actually develop in.
