⚾ Dad of 2028 | Building @RecruitParent1 to help families navigate recruiting, be smarter & invest wisely. Student-athletes lead. Families get guidance.📚
I have been told & my understanding going through the college baseball recruiting process with my 2028 is that X is the primary social media platform that is used by coaches for recruiting. However, my 2028 wants to reach out to specific coaches (in addition to emails) who have X accounts but they are not open to DMs…interesting.
Recruits: You’re allowed to ask a coach where you stand.
“Coach, am I being evaluated for a roster spot in this class, and what do you need from me next?”
Be respectful. But be direct.
This is your future that you’re trying to build after all, and you can’t build a plan around assumptions.
I am finding through my due diligence the extent of all the baseball opportunities out there after HS. If you love baseball, I find it hard to believe you can’t find somewhere after HS where you can play. Between D1, D2, D3, JUCO, NAIA, NJCAA, specific community college systems, and our nation’s military. There is somewhere for you! I will cover in my e-book due out by February 1. #BaseballDad2028 @RecruitParent1 #TheRecruitingParent
Another X profile I want to uplift is @jaketopooo. Jake understands the process and has LIVED the process. Check him out and contact him if you need help. @RecruitParent1
Been seeing more questions about being a dual-sport athlete and the benefits that come with it.
Most conversations focus on the athletic side. But some of the biggest benefits have nothing to do with performance.
3 underrated benefits of playing multiple sports:
1️⃣ Time management. You can’t be a dual-sport athlete without learning to prioritize, plan, and use your time wisely.
2️⃣ Learning from different coaches. Every coach teaches differently. Learning to adapt to different styles prepares athletes for more than sports—it helps them in the workforce, too.
3️⃣ Exposure to different types of people. Baseball players are different from swimmers, who are different from basketball players. Every sport has its own culture, mindset, and personalities. Being around those differences builds perspective and teaches you how to connect with people who think differently.
The benefits of playing multiple sports go well beyond the field, pool, or court.
You’re not just developing an athlete. You’re developing a person. Did I miss anything?? Drop it below!

Got a 4 p.m. practice?
A solid lunch at school, a snack like a banana or a sandwich in the early afternoon, and a recovery snack right after practice, before the drive home.

JUCO is not a consolation prize.
It can mean more at-bats or innings, time to grow, and a second chance to be recruited.
Indiana-area JUCO programs on our list: Vincennes, Wabash Valley, Lincoln Trail, John A. Logan and Danville Area.

Parents: coaches recruit the whole player. Physical tools, how he competes, his grades and how he acts when things go wrong.
Many families focus only on stats and rankings and miss what actually moves a coach.

Myth: a higher ranking gets a player recruited.
Fact: coaches judge the player, not the ranking. Spend on training and the right events, not on raising a profile score.

New in The Dugout: Fall to Winter.
Food, recovery, strength and second sports, put together into one simple off-season plan. Plus a sample week and a 5-step checklist for families.
Spring players are built in the winter. Link below.
Parents: your son can email a college coach at any age. The rules limit what coaches can send back, not what he sends.
D-I baseball coaches can start calls, texts and emails Aug. 1 before junior year.

Great article to answer my earlier question about college baseball coaches’ preference for multi-sport athletes! Thanks, @inbaseballhub! @RecruitParent1
@BaseballDad2028 Most coaches love it honestly. Shows athleticism and keeps kids from burning out. We wrote up which sports carry over best if it helps: https://t.co/QNuwFhFu1W
