Canadians have been falling behind economically for over a decade now, and eventually they were going to start getting priced out of the US market because the loonie just can’t keep up.
The next generation of Canadians won’t be able to even buy in to the US market like their boomer parents did.
I’ve seen the same effect in desirable parts of Mexico where Canadians are selling for cheaper prospects btw….
Trump is being used as a shield and excuse for Canadians to drop the mask of kindness (it’s been just fake “niceness” all along) and lean into the anti-Americanness that forms a cornerstone of their ectopic Brit identities.
Scapegoats are the refuge of the weak, and Canada has decided to destroy its relationship with the US because of one man.
See below for the reason why:
Canada’s Mediocracy Equilibrium is not the result of failure. It is the result of success without sacrifice.
For most of our history, we have lived inside an unusually forgiving status quo: protected by larger powers, cushioned by geography, enriched by natural endowments, insulated from existential threats, and morally reassured by being “not America.”
This has produced a society that is comfortable enough to stagnate, but not desperate enough to change.

@biemelneus You’re of course right, which is why it would be nice if the Pope could trim down his comments a bit. He is a smart man and his comments can often be interpreted different ways.
@the_ksag Buddy, the *market ultimately determines the value of this company whether or not you agree with it.
And I’m not evading at all, have you not read the various comments I made previously on this thread?
I don’t feel like repeating myself for a bunny. 🐰
