@morallawwithin Had this realization a while back with “arse.” Saying that with an American accent sounds silly until you realize they just don’t gaf about correctly annunciating the “r” and just use it to soften the “a” into something that does resemble American English “ass”

Russians referred to Ukraine as «на Украине» instead of «в Украине.» Ukraine is a country so you don’t say “the”
Funniest part about this is that he and his cameraman came into the protest and were shoving people around telling attendees they’d “regret it” if they even got near them, ran into the wrong people I guess and got swung on, pulled pepper spray out, and MACED HIMSELF. Was amazing.
