British politics in a nutshell
Step 1: invent or exaggerate a problem
Step 2: blame migrants, the poor, students, minorities or anyone with the least power
Step 3: promise action
Step 4: forget you’ve already had 14 years to act
Step 5: Create a new party & Repeat
Every day, we're trapped in the paradox of the "Schrödinger’s immigrant", a mythical outsider who exists simultaneously as a lazy welfare dependent & an unstoppable machine taking all the jobs(both skilled & unskilled).
The immigrant remains a highly convenient shape shifting scapegoat designed to explain away ALL complex, systemic domestic failures.
Keeping this paradox alive ensures politicians never have to answer for a decade of chronic underinvestment, flatlining productivity, & broken infrastructure.
@CW_Watchdog@tompfoster@m0w4q45 The point being that the CoE (or indeed any other Church) has been deconsecrating and disposing of old churches and chapels for a very long time, reflecting declining congregations. Not sure that's something anyone should want to, or should even be allowed to, legislate against.
