@IAmStatMatt@ShaxNBA He has the potential to be a monster defender. Athletic, excellent footwork & instincts. His health & lack of offensive game a big concern but high ceiling on other end.
@SlappinGlass Excellent newsletter this week. It seems there is much more leeway for the exchanger to move into their screen these days (all screens, actually) which makes this even more effective.
@nbanerdd I LOVE Boozer … but a reason why these Gators are still in college. He is going to see way more explosion & athleticism in NBA … and some of the rim scoring goes away. That said, he is smart & think perimeter shooting will be there (plus think can average 3 apg).
@DraftExpress@ZachLowe_NBA Potential as elite defender. The lateral quickness & retreat ability is superb. He is a huge question mark on other end but can see him as incredible bench/situational player.
@mdotbrown Agree. Also, the advent of games being on TV more frequently & then YouTube/replay lessened the creativity (more players mimic games/moves of others). Gervin’s finger roll, skyhook, etc. is discouraged at young age now. The 3 pt shot also plays a role in this.
@JonesOnTheNBA Way better creator than Randle. Not near as explosive. Think he will develop into a better shooter. Different games and strengths but can envision Boozer reaching that level of production.
@AndyGlockner Yes to all reasons you mentioned. Improved in almost all efficiency ratings. Big one I liked was BLOB efficiency. Went from just toss it to Jalen to great sets. Compare this to Bulls moving from Doug Collins to Jackson & Tex.
@AndyGlockner Brunson just a fascinating study. Primary scorer & Knicks only trustworthy ball-handler in starting lineup. Other small NBA Finals MVP lead guards (Isiah, Curry, Parker, JoJo White) did not have to take on full load to near same degree.
@KyleTuckerCBB Did not trust Gators in tourney last year w/guard play but Fland did improve some on defense & with decison-making. Still bit of question mark but even w/that issue they were a play away from beating Iowa.
@AndyGlockner They have window to get a very good 4 before rookie contracts start expiring. I love Fox but he is not great in PnR & could be better as tablesetter w/that speed. Knicks 4th & 5th starters way better than Spurs’. Need an upgrade there.
