ADC PICKS RT. HON. CHIBUIKE ROTIMI AMAECHI AS ATIKU’S RUNNING MATE.
The National Leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), after extensive consultations with party leaders, coalition partners, youth and women stakeholders, and representatives of all geopolitical zones, is proud to announce that the Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has been selected as the Vice-Presidential Candidate of our great party for the 2027 Presidential Election.
This recommendation follows the successful conclusion of the ADC Presidential Primaries, in which Rt. Hon. Amaechi emerged as the runner-up, earning widespread support from party members across the federation and demonstrating his enduring appeal as one of Nigeria's most experienced and respected political leaders.
The proposed partnership between His Excellency Atiku Abubakar and Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi represents more than a political alliance; it is the coming together of two tested statesmen with the experience, national reach, and leadership capacity required to rescue Nigeria from its current challenges and reposition the country for a new era of prosperity, security, and inclusive development.
Rt. Hon. Amaechi brings to this ticket one of the most comprehensive public service records in contemporary Nigerian politics. His experience spans all major pillars of democratic governance. He served with distinction as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, making him one of the longest-serving legislative leaders in Nigeria's Fourth Republic. He subsequently served two terms as Governor of Rivers State, where he oversaw significant investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and public sector reforms. At the national level, he served as Minister of Transportation, leading some of the most ambitious transportation and rail modernization initiatives in Nigeria's history.
Few political leaders in Nigeria today possess such extensive and balanced experience across both the legislative and executive arms of government. This depth of experience will be invaluable in supporting the next ADC administration from day one.
Beyond his impressive credentials, Rt. Hon. Amaechi strengthens the ticket strategically. His political influence across the South-South and wider Southern Nigeria, his reputation as a reform-minded administrator, and his proven ability to build coalitions across political, ethnic, and regional lines make him uniquely positioned to complement the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar.
Together, Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi embody a truly national ticket—one that bridges regions, generations, and political traditions. Their combined experience in governance, economic management, public administration, party organization, and nation-building offers Nigerians a credible and compelling alternative capable of restoring confidence in government and accelerating national development.
At a time when millions of Nigerians are demanding competent leadership, economic revival, job creation, security, and national unity, the Atiku-Amaechi ticket sends a clear message: the ADC is prepared to govern, prepared to unite the nation, and prepared to deliver results.
The leadership of the ADC is confident that this partnership will energize our growing coalition, inspire hope among Nigerians, and provide the leadership necessary to build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The ADC therefore calls on all party members, coalition partners, civil society organizations, youth groups, women leaders, and Nigerians of goodwill to join us as we embark on this historic journey to renew our nation and secure a better future for generations to come.

Sam Presti just fired back at SGA critics with some eye-opening numbers:
He drew 415 fouls this season.
Only 11 were challenged.
Only 4 were overturned.

Bandits feel arrogant because of the excessive money they control.
They use huge money to buy informants, buy food stuffs at prices higher than market price, buy other supplies at prices way higher than normal market price which gives sellers reason to take risk and transact with them due to the unusual profits.
A bottle of Coke is over 6 times the normal price in the bush. A piece of maggi star goes for more than 500. Drugs are extremely expensive in their area. A liter of fuel is sold at almost 5 times. And people are taking risks to supply them because they have money and in abundance.
Cashless policy came and disrupted all these lucrative ventures and sent them (bandits) into hunger and starvation because there was no enough money to buy and people could not take risks through bank transfers.
We need it back if we truly want to start from somewhere in addressing this situation.

A year ago, the Thunder were the NBA's feel-good story ⚡
They were built, not bought. A homegrown contender led by a young core that genuinely looked like they enjoyed playing together.
They won at a historic pace, captured a championship, and became the blueprint every rebuilding team wanted to follow.
Fast forward one year, and the conversation sounds completely different.
The winning never stopped, but the praise did.
Critics point to the flopping. Opposing fanbases complain about the whistles. Every big win seems to spark another debate about officiating and whether the Thunder get favorable calls.
The script has flipped in record time.
From league darlings to public enemy No. 1, Oklahoma City has experienced the full championship cycle in just 12 months.
The one thing that hasn't changed? They keep stacking wins while the noise gets louder.
Love them or hate them, the Thunder are still exactly where everyone else wants to be 🏆
A Leader Like Tambuwal.
Today, I celebrate my friend and brother, H.E. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
Tambuwal had a free pass to contest for the Senate for another term and a great opportunity to position for the Senate leadership. But he chose not to contest for re-election. With this decision, he has made way for one of his followers to take his seat in the upper legislative chamber.
In this same country where a serving governor is also running for the Senate, Tambuwal shows a great example, recognising that part of his duty as a leader is also to make way for those who have followed him and give them the opportunity to become leaders in their own right.
Given his own relatively young age, this must be recognised as a huge sacrifice.
Kudos to you, my brother.
@AWTambuwal
The Oklahoma City Thunder completely owned the state of California this season.
Final record against California teams:
🔻8-0 vs Lakers
🔻4-0 vs Warriors
🔻3-0 vs Clippers
🔻3-0 vs Kings
18-0 TOTAL.
What makes it even crazier is how dominant they looked doing it.
Elite defense.
Depth everywhere.
Constant pressure offensively.
The Thunder didn’t just beat California teams. They erased them. After another sweep over the Lakers, Oklahoma City keeps looking more and more like the team to beat in the NBA.
My goal this year is to renovate 50 schools and equip them with essential learning materials.
Next year, insha Allah, we will expand our impact into the healthcare sector.

How Tinubu Won and Lost the North
By Salihu Tanko Yakasai
The story of the 2023 presidential election cannot be told without the North. It was central to the emergence of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, not just in votes, but in trust, alliances, and calculated political risk taken by influential Northern actors at critical moments.
Before the primaries, Tinubu’s network in the North was deep and deliberate. He had strong ties with figures like Aliyu Wamakko and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, alongside key APC governors such as Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Nasir El-Rufai, and former Governor Abubakar Badaru. These were not ceremonial relationships - they translated into real political leverage.
At a time when resistance within the ruling party threatened his ambition, these Northern allies stood firm. They backed him through the primaries, even when it meant confronting entrenched interests, or the so-called cabal within the Presidential Villa. Northern governors went as far as meeting late President Muhammadu Buhari to demand clarity on succession. His neutral stance opened the door, and they walked Tinubu through it.
Then came the election season. Policies like the naira redesign, widely seen as an attempt to weaken Tinubu’s chances, were openly resisted by some of these same allies. Their support was not passive - it was active, visible, and costly.
Beyond politics, Tinubu also secured the backing of influential Muslim scholars. The Muslim-Muslim ticket became a rallying point. Clerics framed it as a matter of religious duty and mobilized support, even from the mimbar during Friday prayers.
By the time the votes were counted, the numbers told the story. Tinubu, a Southern candidate, drew the bulk of his strength from the North - 63%, compared to 36% from the South. The North invested in him, and delivered.
But what followed has been a different story.
There is now a growing sense among many of those same Northern allies that the relationship has not translated into inclusive governance. Complaints of exclusion and lack of consultation are widespread. Key figures who helped deliver victory now appear sidelined.
Nasir El-Rufai’s exclusion from the cabinet raised immediate questions. Abdullahi Ganduje was also passed over for executive office, later given the party chairmanship - a role many saw as compensation rather than strategy, and one he eventually exited. Developments involving Abubakar Malami have only deepened perceptions of political distancing and quiet retribution.
Even within government, there are signs of strain. Ministries are underfunded, with allocations falling far below approved budgets. The Minister of Health publicly stated he received just N38 million for capital projects out of a N200 billion proposal. Behind the scenes, some ministers are reportedly funding their roles from personal resources, while others appear better supported. It raises a simple question - what exactly are the priorities?
Religious backing is also shifting. Clerics who once campaigned vigorously are now more critical, especially on issues of trust and fairness. Concerns around INEC and the appointment of a perceived biased umpire have only heightened tensions, with some openly threatening to withdraw support.
A related dimension that is quietly reshaping sentiment in the North is the growing push of what many describe as a “Christian genocide” narrative. While insecurity remains a national crisis, there is increasing resentment in core Northern states where communities have borne some of the heaviest losses over the years. From banditry to insurgency, large swathes of the North have experienced sustained violence affecting predominantly Muslim populations. This has led to a perception that the framing of the crisis is selective and, at times, politically motivated. For many, it raises deeper questions about fairness in national discourse and reinforces a feeling of being misunderstood or deliberately misrepresented 1/2
A few days ago when I announced my defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), someone asked:
“Who exactly is Suleiman Abdu Kwari?”
Instead of titles, let me answer with a story…
The world, Europe, and Spain have faced this critical moment before. In 2003, a few irresponsible leaders dragged us into an illegal war in the Middle East that brought nothing but insecurity and pain.
Our response then must be our response now:
NO to violations of international law.
NO to the illusion that we can solve the world’s problems with bombs.
NO to repeating the mistakes of the past.
NO TO WAR.
