Today we hit the jackpot: confirmation of Australasian Bittern breeding in response to environmental water in the Lowbidgee this season. With only about 1300 left in Australia, every nest is precious. Hats off to @theCEWH & @nswenviromedia, incorporating bitterns into management.
We're thrilled (and a bit sad) that our former Chair @rene_woods has been appointed as the first Basin Traditional Owner to the Board of the @MD_Basin_Auth! Rene is a powerful advocate for First Nations water justice. He'll provide a powerful voice for our mobs in his new role.
Last night we had our Graduation. Fletcher and Mitchell were lucky enough to win the Mayo Community service award and Fletcher won the Heysen Community award for their contributions. Congrats! @MakeMayoMatter @MurrayDarlingAs@Thurl1947#studentleaders
Our last final attempt to get a few more teachers to fill in our survey. As a class we have found learning about our very own Murray Darling Basin eye opening and informative. We want this to happen in all classrooms. Teachers please help us by filling out our quick survey...
A small group of students listening in to the Murray Darling Association conference today. We have learnt so much. Thank you for letting us be a part of it. Can not wait until November! @MurrayDarlingAs @MakeMayoMatter #water#river#studentleaders
Emma Bradbury: I see that all communities want the same thing. We all want a healthy community that is thriving, prosperous and happy. How each one achieves that might differ, but I'm inspired by how committed we all are to achieving it.
Local communities are not part of the problem.
Local knowledge is what will lead us to sustainable solutions.
Local leadership is a national priority.
Let's Listen to the Locals.

@Thurl1947 We have been looking at Sweet tea recipes to try as well. Our class is halfway through the Jackie French book 'A Girl From Snowy River.' @jackie_french_
Last week we spent the day around the campfire. Making damper, toasting marshmallows and enjoying the sounds. Gave the students an idea of living on the land. Lucky us to have a scrub area in our school. @MakeMayoMatter @MurrayDarlingAs@theprojecttv#water#environment#outdoors
Please keep the responses to the survey coming please!
We need this shared FAR AND WIDE!
Teachers, please fill this out and help our class look into how water is taught in the curriculum. We have learnt so much so far! #education#water#teachers#future
