🏠15,000 + homes destroyed by Cyclone Ditwah in 🇱🇰 - UN ⭕ The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reports more than 15,000 homes destroyed across Sri Lanka. ⭕ Over 200 roads remain impassable. ⭕ At least 10 bridges are damaged. ⭕ Sections of the rail network and the national power grid are also affected. ⭕ The damage comes after flooding triggered by Cyclone Ditwah - among the worst Sri Lanka has seen since Indian ocean Tsunami in 2004. ⭕ In 2004 gov reported about 80,000 houses destroyed and more than 889,000 people displaced. #SriLanka

Personally, I think this is probably the biggest campaign ever done in the history of the Maldives. It's still about 25 hours.. The people of this small country with a total polulation around 500,000 peoplehave already raised close to 600,000 dollars (184 million rupees) for us.. While big countries are struggling, the people of this small islandnation are doing such a great work. Government and private oragamizations, media, schools, big/small businesses, banks, NGOs, foreign workers, all of them have come together. There are no words to say about what they are doinv right now. TV channels have been going live since the beginning. Mobile networks have provided free phone calls to Sri Lanka. Collection boxes have been placed in places so that people can contribute what they have. In addition, they are doing everything they can to help the Sri Lankan people working here. At a hard time like this, what these people doing for us should not be forgotten. Finally, we must say that we are lucky to be able to work in such a beautiful country, with such beautiful people and in such good oranizations. *This campaign is not over yet... #CeylonaaEkuDhiveheen #TeamHDC #withHDC #Maldives #PSM #TVM
