They are the reason I don't lay rabbit poison at home.
Once I can show how it catches a rabbit, I can use the design (not mine) to teach others how to build & set them.

Annette Brennan was many things - a devoted teacher, a kind soul, an amazing human - a woman who deserved to live.
She was not -as some media outlets insisted - a wheelie bin. It's been so disheartening and enraging to watch headline writers call the callous killing and dumping of 67-year-old Annette as a 'wheelie bin murder'. Reducing women to objects is par for the course in media and I'm sick of it.
Annette is the 48th of 49 Australian women killed this year.
She was allegedly murdered between June 23 and July 2 at her home in Coolaroo, Victoria. A male known to her was charged overnight with Annette's murder. It's alleged the male ended her life, placed her in a recycling bin and left her body to be picked up by waste collectors. She was ultimately found in a recycling plant in Melbourne.
Annette - an English language teacher - had moved into her home just months ago. It's believed the male was her new housemate.
While a former student has spoken to the media about the woman she described as a 'second mum', there's been almost no outrage over Annette's death and certainly no public outpourings of grief. As is almost always the case, the older the murdered woman the more invisible she is. I hope Annette matters to you - as she matters to me.

The story of the unusual friendship between a female grey wolf and a male brown bear. They were spotted every night for 10 days straight, spending several hours together between 8pm to 4am. They would even share food together.

Finnish photographer Lassi Rautiainen observed them and took several photos of the unusual meetings. No-one can know exactly why or how the young wolf and bear became friends.

Perhaps they were both alone and they were young and a bit unsure of how to survive alone.

BCI scientists have co-authored a paper evaluating bat senses and the stimuli from wind farms that may help explain why bats are fatally attracted to wind turbines. Millions of bats are killed at wind energy facilities worldwide. Future research should test reducing specific sensory pollutants from wind farms to reduce the threat of wind energy development to bats.
