This should be a bigger story.

ICE detained a father when he stepped outside his apartment to pick up dinner. His 6-year-old daughter was left alone. Neighbors later found her outside, crying in the street, asking for her father.

If any local law enforcement agency conducted an operation and left a child without supervision, there would be investigations, accountability, and consequences. That is what the public would rightly demand.

So where is the accountability here?

No matter your views on immigration policy, a 6-year-old child should never be left alone and vulnerable because of a federal enforcement action.

Basic standards of care and common sense still matter.

ICE deports Florida pastor's wife—even though judge issued stay of deportation order.

She was denied her medication—shackled by wrist, stomach & ankles—leaving severe bruising.

"We paid everything they asked us, filled out forms, and not skipping anything," her daughters said.

That didn't stop ICE from deporting her back to Mexico, "With only the clothes on her back."

Agents refused to take her to a court where she could plead her case saying, "That's not our job."

Maria Isidro was approved for an I-130—also called a Petition for Alien Relative—to secure her legal status in 2023.
