My wife and I got into it last night about the grocery bill.

I pulled up an old Target order from February 2020.

28 items. $64.50.

Added every single one back to the cart just to see.

$158.30.
Same 28 items. Same store. Same cart.
$93.80 more.

In five years.
We didn’t buy more.
Didn’t upgrade anything.
Didn’t add a single extra item.

Just needed the same things we always needed.

They told us inflation was transitory. They told us it was under control. They told us the economy was strong.

Our cart didn’t get any of those memos.
145% increase in five years.

Not one member of Congress has looked at a grocery receipt in decades.

And it shows.

So @AmericanAir has delayed our flight 3 times today. So not only are we delayed from this airport, but we will miss our connecting flight causing an overnight stay in Dallas. They have agreed to a hotel but $12 in meals credits is hardly enough given the lost day of work.

the permanent Air Force One replacements are still delayed.. Boeing can't finish them.. so this Qatar-gifted bridge jet is the plan..

and here's what nobody wants to say out loud..

the gold isn't a standard Air Force One color.. it's never been on a presidential aircraft before.. it's the same gold on Trump's buildings.. his lobbies.. his brand..

so the plane your country didn't buy.. modified with $400 million you didn't vote to spend.. is about to fly over your head in the color scheme of one man's personal aesthetic.. on the day America celebrates being a republic..

foreign gift → $400 million in taxpayer modifications → gold paint → national birthday flyover..
