This isn't diplomacy, it's blatant cynicism! Trump is putting the attacked country under brutal pressure, forcing it to submit to Russian conditions without any guarantees for the future. Ukraine, which has been fighting bloodily for its sovereignty for years, is now supposed to place its trust in empty promises – "later" sounds like a mockery, considering how unreliable Trump always has been and always will be.
