R/homeschoolrecovery on Reddit is a great source if you are actually interested in the lived experience of people who were homeschooled vs how it makes parents feel about themselves

@RadMothering @JoeCassandra As someone raised in a homeschool environment where most of the kids I knew were also homeschooled - most DO face social deficits. Seeing different groups of people 1-3x per week is not the same as spending every day with the same kids in terms of forging strong connections.

@iamhypatia I’ve gone with friends who had kids and the mom didn’t even drink, just enjoyed the food and the specific toy area set up in the corner for kids. It was lovely. Maybe you don’t have/want community like that but they were 100% welcome there. Good parenting ≠ social isolation.
