The featured post is a bad example and you're right that this could be easily replaced by a less complex system. However humanoid robots can be used for other jobs where there is no automated solution yet. For example all your household chores from cleaning to cooking. Imagine a buttler. Or for home care of old people, aids at restaurants and hospitals. A lot of the dull jobs can be replaced and we humans can focus on more pleasant things. Also, it can solve parts of the loneliness pandemic.
