@usgraphics @wedtm However, SSH also has the same protections and more. A computer can’t distinguish whether an input is coming from a user or a bot, so it has to treat every input same. Namely “possibly malicious”. Give SSH a wrong password. You’ll be waiting.

@mycoliza @usgraphics I'd rather do not dive into the hot cable jungle behind a 24KW blade chassis, and it's not because we don't meticulously organize our cables. Just walking to a rack and making a 20 second hot-swap is priceless.

@xenadu02 It's a learned thing from spinning disk days. Your disk is either on disk, or it's gone. At most you soft-corrupt your FS. Flash is more complex. DRAM, SRAM caches, SLC fast ingest flash cache, etc. So, failure modes are more varied and harder to follow. Kudos to WD and Samsung.
