Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Hajiya Ladi Binta Musawa, the beloved mother of our elder sister, the Honourable Minister of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa. Hajiya Ladi was a devoted mother, matriarch, and woman of immense kindness whose impact extended far beyond her family. Through her generosity, compassion, and commitment to others, she touched countless lives across Kaduna and beyond.

The values she instilled in her children are reflected in their character, strength, and service to society. While I did not have the honour of knowing her as personally as the likes of my Essence brothers, Mallam Hafiz Bayero and Hon. Muktar Baloni. Her reputation is a sublime and May Allah elevate her soul to the highest level of Aljannah. I personally heard this view from the countless that attended her Janazah prayer and burial at Gudu earlier today.

The late Alhaji Musa Musawa, a respected progressive, accomplished public servant, and one of Northern Nigeria's most principled political voice has created a family that will endure in Nigeria’s history. Our late mother was a backbone of that esteemed family. The family’s contributions to public life, their commitment to justice, and their lifelong advocacy for the ordinary Nigerian has earned them admiration across generations. Together, they built a remarkable family and left a legacy rooted in service, integrity, compassion, and community.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to Barrister Hannatu Musawa, the entire Musawa family, and all who mourn the loss of a beloved mother, grandmother, mentor, and pillar of strength. The amount of calls, prayers from some of my constituents, particularly in Unguwar Sarki where the Musawa family home is, and our own family home. As well as constituents in Bakori Road, where our late mother, Hajiya Ladi lived, is a testament to how this loss has affected every facet of the social class of Nigeria.

May Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive her shortcomings, grant her Aljannatul Firdaus, and give the family the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. On behalf of the excellent people Kaduna North that I humbly represent, we deeply mourn this immense loss.

The Loss of Our Representative in the House of Representatives!

We have lost our representative for Gombe, Kwami, and Funakaye, Hon. Yaya Bauchi Tongo. He passed away today, Friday, 12th June 2026.

Today, along with Alhaji Bappa Ahmad Abdullahi and some colleagues, I visited him. I was with him at Nizamiye Hospital, Abuja, from 3:30pm to 3:50pm, where I prayed for him.

I also met his friend, two of his children, and other relatives at the hospital. They received me and accompanied me to his room (video attached).

Since leaving the hospital, I have been deeply worried because of the condition I saw him in. Even to a layman like me, his health condition was clearly critical. However, we always put our trust in Allah, the Almighty God.

A few hours later, I received news of his passing at Nizamiye Hospital, Abuja, today, Friday.

We have lost one of our own. However, passing away on a Friday carries its own spiritual blessing.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
"No believer passes away on Friday, or its night, but that Allah will protect him from the trial of the grave.” (Tirmidhi: 1074).

May Allah admit him to Jannatul Firdaus along with our departed parents and loved ones, and grant his family and relatives the fortitude to bear this loss.

My husband and I started our relationship with Zina, we were in a Haraam relationship. We later on did a Nikah in 2019 and since then we have been married. I agreed to live with his family and there have been happy times and bad times, all of which I accept as part and parcel of life. From 2023 our relationship took a bad turn as my husband developed an affair with a woman who follows Christianity and is of a completely different race than ours. I tried to stop it from happening forgave him a lot of times because I believe very strongly in marriage and Nikah and my faith has since become stronger in Islam after we had our Nikah. I believe everything happens for a reason and as long as you play your part Allah paak will take care of you. We even moved country to help my husband stop this affair but fate brought me back to our home country. Since we came back, he had restarted his affair with this woman continuing to commit Zina. I haven't handled the problems correctly myself me.
