No doubt JJ has cooled offensively in the 2nd half, but using dinosaur stats to compare players is 30 years outdated. It’s what led to Mo Vaughn and Juan Gonzalez winning MVPs. We’re not in the 1990s.

@dukeofmissouri @StevenBibas He’s a RHD (already hard to find) who’s 1) extremely young, 2) has clear offensive upside, 3) still on an entry level contract and 4) displayed clear improvement (offense and defense) while handling first pair minutes and assignments at the end of the season.

Had some very good teams win at least a round in the playoffs (12, 16, 17) before finally breaking through in 2019. 22 team won a round too. Wasn't a flash in the pan.

@JD90530700 @awfulannouncing Because it’s 100% untrue. Fans flocked to Busch until the downturn in play. Routinely 40k for a weekend game pre-Covid. Including during the Michael Brown protests. And the city has only gotten safer since then.

@dwatstl44 @PassingDrill They did clearly have a working relationship though. You may recall that it was a big deal when Kerber let John Kelly do the radio play-by-play for the second period in the 2019 Stanley Cup Final. A kind gesture since that was Kelly’s only chance to call the Final.

@CartmanAJ @jprutherford I'm all for "letting them play" (i.e. not calling ticky-tack crap), but you have to call the egregious stuff. Otherwise it's WWE and not NHL.
