This is a genuine appeal to the Union Govt and UPSC by the border residents who are appearing for UPSC Prelims.
The exam must be postponed because they have been unable to prepare at a crucial stage due to Op Sindoor and the resultant effects.
Hopefully someone will hear their voice.
Demands to postpone UPSC Prelims 2025 arise from India-Pakistan conflict disruptions, especially in border areas like Jammu and Kashmir, where blackouts, internet shutdowns, and security risks hinder preparation. Safety concerns, psychological stress, and unfair conditions for armed forces aspirants fuel the call.
However, UPSC has issued no postponement notice, a recent ceasefire may stabilize the situation, and delays could disrupt the exam cycle.

Equality in Opportunity - right of every student to have equal opportunity.
But, if prelims is conducted on time, this right will be reached for:
- students living in border states
- students with close relatives in armed forces deployed on borders
- students who are in service and whose leaves are cancelled
etc.
Thus, even if the situation has improved now - UPSC should empathetically consider postponing the exam.
It isn’t an unreasonable ask as in last 5 years, UPSC pre was postponed 3 times.
