wild that nobody on council has commented on the Austin logo
They need their talking points soon , or prop Q will be a referendum on the logo
I recommend saying that it will be funded by hotel taxes which are legally required to be wasted on stuff like this

Is it happening? Will the city of Austin officially launch its new logo and rebrand today ??
A ‘city of Austin brand initiative news conference’ is scheduled for 9:30 AM on ATXN 👀

@JackCraver Follow the crumbs Jack
How much did the city spend on employee travel and conferences last year , what value is it providing?
Spoiler : it’s a not insignificant percentage of the proposed TRE tax raise funding
@LoewyLawFirm The argument for remote work would be alot stronger if even one city department was able to reduce budget because of it, or even increase their workload \ throughput
@brintash @LoewyLawFirm All the good granny flats were built like 50 years ago
Different era
So expensive to build now you will be renting it for like $1900 for the owner to break even
@CedGolden He had his best player get cancer and a couple others leave for money, and boosters were too impatient to let him reload
Although maybe if the slam dunk hire of beard wasn’t on the table they would have
@LoewyLawFirm They need to increase the size of UT big time. The number of CS majors graduating from there is not much larger than it was in the early 90s
How does that make sense? And how does it benefit Texas?
@paulg Libraries will still require their librarians to have masters degrees for a long time
It’s kind of a hazing ritual at this point. If the elder librarians had to do it , the new gen must as well
@Jennifer4Austin@JackCraver@TraceySchulz Yea in hindsight, the permanent tax instead of a bond was a very bad idea
Cost has ballooned because of inflation and redesigns
And the bond value that can be secured by this tax stream has crashed cause of interest rates
