Toodles! 👋
@bbusschots joined my on the latest episode of Kilowatt to discuss his new Polestar 2. If you’re in the market for an EV you should check out what Bart has to say.

Thanks for the feedback! I don’t normally need to talk politics, so I probably was being defensive. My plan was to give the disclaimer just this once while covering the first month of a very changed world, and that’s still my plan.
Tried the Let’s Talk Apple pod, with @bbusschots. Interesting format and release cadence. A calming departure from a lot of the loud, hyperbolic, idiocy that seems to have become du-jour. My only critique is the need to reiterate his commentary disclaimer - came off as defensive.
Let's Talk Apple 136, the show for December 2024 with @bbusschots is out: https://t.co/g4uY2CLVtk
The three main stories are the conflict minerals complaints filed against Apple, Apple's OS point updates, and the continued rollout of Apple Intelligence.
I thought I was done sharing the best Christmas decorations from around #Maynooth, and then I popped in to @CartonHouseGolf and was met by this masterpieces roughly shaped liked the main house itself!
Another shot of Mars, Jupiter, Orion & Taurus dominating the eastern sky over #Maynooth. Mars is in the lower-left, and Jupiter in the upper-right next to the Hayades & Pleiades clusters in Taurus. Orion is over the apartments.
Mars & Jupiter in the winter sky. Rising just over the trees in the lower left is Mars, and shining bright in Taurus in the top-right is Jupiter close to the Hyades & Pleiades clusters. To Jupiter’s 3-o’clock is the star Antares, or ‘Mars Rival’ for it’s brightness and red colour
While it’s true that our president is rightly proud of the tree dominating the window her office over the entrance to the TSI building, I still think the prettiest tree in @MaynoothUni is the student apartments 🙂🎄
Having shared lots of my favourite publicly displayed holiday decorations snapped on my daily walks, time to get a little more personal — Rudi, as we’ve called him lives under our Christmas tree, and is the creation of an Irish carpentry company.
It’s not often you can stand here and grab this shot in the early evening, but Christmas Eve was one of those times. The shops all closed early and everyone had gotten themselves to where they needed as I grabbed an evening walk while the sous vide worked it’s magic on dinner 🙂
The spire of the college chapel in #Maynooth disappearing into the December mist.
I usually go for contrasty monochromes, but this foggy day was just perfect for a high-key lower contrast treatment.
Another of my favourite holiday decorations around #Maynooth this year — the first commercial one. This lovely scene occupies the window of a local estate agent (realtor), so it’s as appropriate as it is cute 🙂
There’s something about the way the knurly bare branches frames Tyrconnell Tower in Carton House. Given the dull grey weather I wasn’t expecting to shoot any keepers, but I really like how this came out.
A nice view of the work-horse of modern @IrishRail Commuter services, the class 29000 DMU. These railcars come in sets of 4, and here we see two paired to form a service from #Maynooth to Dublin running along the #RoyalCanal near the Blakestown level crossing at Intel.
If you watched the EuroVision Christmas mass yesterday evening, it was broadcast from this rather plain looking little parish church in #Maynooth, Ireland. I snapped this yesterday while they were setting up, you can just see the fleet of TV vans over the wall on the left.
