Eagles fans: “AJ Brown is going to cost at-least a 1st and 2nd round pick.”
Eagles get a 1st and 5th
Eagles fans: “WE ABSOLUTELY FLEECED NEW ENGLAND EVEN THOUGH FOR MONTHS WE SAID HE WAS WORTH MORE THAN WHAT WE GOT BACK.”
AJ Brown tells @MariaTaylor he has had a #Patriots rug in his house for a few years — even while he was with the Eagles.
"This is my team. This is my team since I was a kid. I was doing what I was supposed to be doing with the Eagles, but this is it."

ESPN sources: The Eagles are trading Pro-Bowl WR A.J. Brown to the Patriots for a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick that is the better of New England’s two fifths. The deal that has been speculated on for weeks now finally is happening. Brown and Patriots HC Mike Vrabel are reuniting.
If the return for A.J. Brown is straight up a 2028 first round draft pick — and from what I understand, that is the case — then it would come two draft cycles after the parameters of a deal between the #Eagles and Patriots were likely set.
That’s quite a drop in compensation if the initial asking price, as I had heard it, was a first and a second rounder. Some of that seemed posturing.
But the Rams were really the only other serious suitor. Brown was coming off a down season, has medical concerns with his knees, and requires some maintenance off the field. He’s also still highly regarded around the league and has many who vouch for his character and leadership.
The Eagles will save money by moving him — a significant $133.1M in cash — but there is also a dead money charge (around $43M) that necessitated a post-June 1 roster move. So they will be getting more than just the future first rounder for Brown.
It’s not apples to apples, but if you look at the most recent trade for a top receiver — the Broncos gave up 2026 1st, 3d and 4th round picks for Jaylen Waddle and a Dolphins 4th — the Eagles’ return isn’t close to comparable.
Waddle is 19 months younger, but he’s a tier below Brown. Perhaps Denver overpaid, but that market should have conceivably helped the #Eagles.
Wemby crying and hugging his teammates with so much joy.
Bro might save this heartless league with his passion.
Havn’t seen someone be so obsessive to winning and love for the game since Kobe.
He made a fan out of me this year 🤝
.@GregABedard says the Patriots are raving about Drake Maye ahead of next season👀
"They're telling people this: 'Look out for the quarterback this year. You thought he was good last year, wait till you see him now.'"
"From what I understand, it's the mentality, it's how much he knows the offense even more, it's how he has the tools."
