ed(1) has no telemetry either, nor are there even any noteworthy download statistics, due to being part of any proper POSIX base install.
But why users like it? It's the standard text editor.
i think the leather tray bugs me more than the clothes (which at this point, are all in partnership with brands) because paris is full of independent leather craftspeople who do much better work than any luxury brand. we should promote artisans over brands when possible.

10 years from now I'll still be able to write C, PHP, Python, Go, awk, or whatever, all using ed(1) just fine over an SSH connection.
