What’s the optimal strategy for preserving cardiovascular health over the lifespan?
Dr. Ben Levine, a distinguished sports cardiologist, offers this tailored exercise regimen for those dedicated to achieving peak cardiovascular health:
Long Fun Session: Include one weekly session that lasts at least an hour and is enjoyable, such as playing tennis, dancing, or biking.
Moderate to Vigorous Intensity: Two to three days a week should involve moderate to vigorous exercise. The activity should pass the "talk test"—you can talk but can't sing.
High-Intensity Training: Once a week, perform a high-intensity workout like the "Norwegian 4x4" routine.
Strength: Include two days of strength training per week.
