I am done with this shit. It is over. The state of engineering right now is horrible. It has been half a month since I started a new role at a big company. Nobody knows anything here. The specs, code, tests, PRDs, tickets, resolution of those tickets, reports, etc., everything is made by Claude Code. Nobody on my team likes this. They are being forced to ship as much as they can. I have heard multiple times from higher management that pushing code is not a bottleneck, so why are we slow? People are working 12 to 13 hours a day just to press enter. Nobody is reading anything. Humans in corporate are doing nothing on their own. Everyone, literally everyone, from an L1 to an L7 engineer here is doing the same thing. Talk to Claude. There is no sense of victory. Nobody is resolving bugs. In reality, nobody is thinking anymore. Everything is done by LLMs. It is so soul-sucking. I would not mind it, to be honest, if we were at least given the time to check out the code and see what is going where. But no, the goal is to just ship. No matter what happens.

The East West Pipeline and Yanbu Oil Terminal have also been bombed.

Yemen just bombed a Saudi Aramco facility again.

Now fresh bombings have just started in Sanaa.

More energy infrastructure in Saudi could be destroyed in the next 72 hours.

Governments most likely won't be able to provide enough food for civilians in the coming years.

Most vegetables and fruits will most likely disappear from shelves for years.

Millions around the world will most likely be forced to skip meals to survive.

Let's say people eat beyond the limits permitted by governments.

This will most likely be treated as a humanitarian crime.

Eating too much in the coming years could land people in jail.

This is becoming the deadliest disaster in history.

What If Christians Had Done 9/11 to a Muslim Country?

Imagine 19 Christians hijacked planes, destroyed a Muslim country’s most iconic buildings, struck its military headquarters, and slaughtered thousands-while declaring they did it for Christianity and quoting the Bible.

Imagine their Christian leader claimed responsibility, Christians funded and protected his organization, and pastors celebrated the massacre.

What would happen to Christians across Muslim countries?

Would everyone suddenly preach tolerance and insist Christianity had absolutely nothing to do with it? Would churches and Christian minorities be left alone?

And 25 years later, would the attacked city elect a Christian mayor while critics of Christianity were condemned as “Christianophobes”?

You know the answer.

So spare me the hypocrisy.

Just had the creepiest scam ever happen 20 minutes ago.

I got a call from my wife telling me she forgot her wallet and needed the credit card to pay for her gas.

Except my wife was at home with me, and drives a Tesla. Same voice, bit... off, weird cadence but 100% sounded just like her. If she wasn't there, and it wasn't about gas I would have fallen for it.

I entertained it for awhile to get more out of it, I was so confused. Must be some sort of voice deepfake. The responses were too fast for ai, I think it was a voice filter. I wish I had thought to record it.

The future is about to get fucked. Warn your loved ones, do verbal passwords with your kids.

🚨Recent satellite imagery suggests that the Department of War has conducted a covert dredging operation to open up a never-before-used shipping corridor through the Omani side of the Strait of Hormuz.

The corridor in question is an approximately 1,600-foot-wide waterway with a natural depth of about 93 feet, meaning that only a small amount of dredging would have been necessary to make it safe for VLCCs (Very Large Crude Carriers).

Worth noting, ships navigating this corridor remain completely outside the Iranian regime’s line of sight due to the Omani island of Jazirat Musandam and the curvature of the Earth.

It's crazy how all you need to do to trick people is to make something cute. For many people, when they see something cute, all reason goes out the window. They'll ignore the fact that something is state level weapon designed to infiltrate and spy on homes because "adorable." If you get the right proportions, outfit, etc., they assign their own meaning and project emotion onto the object and grow attached. The if people try to tell them what it really is, they attack them. This is how companies push their products into homes.

If you believe this is unrealistic (it's not) look at how attached people get to their AIs already. When OpenAI depreciated one of their older models, people went insane. These same people will get even MORE attached when they put that model in a "cute adorable" robot shell.

There'll also be models that aren't cute, but adult looking, as well. Whatever your weakness is, whatever gets you to ACCEPT the robot because it speaks to you, there'll be a model for that.

That's how they win. It's probably inevitable, but that's the mechanism that's happening.

There's been about a dozen animes about this exact concept. You've probably seen at least once. Cute on the outside, secret killer government robot used in wars on the inside, who just wants to understand what it means to be "human"...or some similar flavor of plot.
