Thank you Senator @Portantino for your commitment to helping CA kids w/ dyslexia! We are thrilled K-2 universal screening for reading difficulties, including risk of dyslexia, passed the legislature and is headed to the Governor's desk! https://t.co/pUtQ21VCKQ
When you accept the thirty pieces of silver, you live with the consequences. The irony is all Americans may end up paying real implications for people in the GOP who sought leadership but we unwilling to lead when it required going against their political self-interest.
@PracticeReaders@ehanford Thank you Emily for another excellent podcast. Especially for recognizing the ‘ privledge’ issue in balanced literacy. Extremely important!
@msrebeccasays YES! Where was the Curriculum and Instruction dept? Where was the ELA lead last night? A handful of SFUSD people have shown disdain for SOR advocates and continued to push for using and purchasing Balanced Literacy curriculum.
Read @PamelaSnow2 blog "I wonder whether balanced literacy proponents would be comfortable going into a class full of fresh-faced 5-year-olds, randomly selecting 10-20% (at least) and sending a note home as follows:" https://t.co/q0kV5gulXz
@MsJasmineMN To be fair- I don't blame the current #SFUSD staff or BOE- they are doing the best they can with the mess they inherited. Years of mismanagement led to this.
#TSAprecheck Maybe the tsa precheck application should come with a mandatory class on going through security? Come on people. I actually felt sorry for the security agents. #SFO
@momenyl SEIS? We also have a master class list on google doc that all teachers can access with RSP students in a certain color, new students another color, and SDC mainstream another color.
