if you'd like to listen to me and my friend Doug, another intervention teacher, be big nerds and advocate for appropriate literacy practices for our kids take some time for this podcast! https://t.co/NPh42n5Eta
the thoughtfulness & delicate maneuvering of this kitty is typical of cats. by contrast, a d*g would overturn the entire platter & run off with a dozen slices of sausage in its jaws.
I have to say it shouldnโt really be a story or that shocking that Sydney Sweeney is a Republican. Half the country is, and youโve been operating under the delusion that not even one (1) celebrity is?
they have a problem with like albino people getting murdered and dismembered bc their bones are good for witchcraft and young girls being raped bc it's supposedly a cure for aids in parts of Africa but sure go off definitely a white thing
the fact that people think that western countries are somehow more accepting of lgbtq people just makes me feel crazy their pr genuinely goes fucking insane like baby who do u think introduced homophobia and transphobia to places like south asia and africa through colonization
Collins was already facing charges of vandalism exceeding $400, attempted second-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, and resisting a police officer in relation to an incident April 16 at Java Beach Cafe on
Sloat Boulevard. Repeat offenders must be kept in jail.
And that solutions require hard work, understanding, and doing what is right and what works, not what is trendy and makes everyone feel warm and fuzzy.
the best part about the literacy roll out too is they have balanced literacy fans in charge of it! very obvious from the clearly biased PowerPoints we've been getting.
Like clockwork:
1. Curriculum adoption committee is formed
2. Zero "novice teachers" join
3. Vets select materials that work for them
4 District places novice teachers into high-needs schools (HNS)
5. Low literacy rates in HNS
6. Parents blamed
7. Equity slogans abound
2+ yrs ago I co-authored a letter warning not offering Algebra I in public middle schools was anti-equity, as the wealthy could go private.
Yesterday I discovered a great example: the main CA Math Framework author put her kids in a private school teaching Algebra I in 8th grade.
apparently @SFMTA_Muni cannot function when it rains and I'll be late for the second time this week because instead of 10 minute headways the 28 has 20+ minutes between buses, at least that's better than the 50 minutes on Tuesday! Seriously, what the hell?
Can states share a common curriculum for each of their required K-12 classes?
For example, letโs look at an Algebra curriculum. Do we need EVERY district from the same state to take on the burden of using their time, money and resources to develop an Algebra curriculum based on the same state standards?
Curriculum committees include teachers, consultants and administrators, all of which use tons of days each year to develop similar looking classes.โ๏ธ ๐ค#EdUnity
these scammers will never stop, they know what they're doing is wrong and they don't care. we need to stop giving people who prop these programs up any good faith.
Looks like @FountasPinnell took a cue from @LucyCalkins and have ventured into a partnership that basically rebrands LLI into Proven Tutoring: https://t.co/NJqbLGqAwX
Oh wow! Amazing read from @CLPeak in KQED today. This week a coworker (SFUSD) asked me to look at her middle school daughter's IEP (from an SFUSD school). What did I find? F&P used as a measurement tool. For a SEVENTH GRADER! ๐ญ๐คฏ๐ค๐คฆโโ๏ธ
โThe damage has been doneโ Check out this story of my heroes pushing on our slow #SFUSD to get a clue on how to fix reading outcomes! ๐ช๐ฝ๐ช๐ฝ๐ซถ๐ฝ๐ป๐Havah Kelley @msrebeccasays
Today we sent the attached letter to @SFUSD_Supe and the SF Board of Education enumerating AROC's many violations and asking the district to immediately suspend AROC's contract with the district pending a full and transparent investigation.
