I absolutely would take the "over" on how many $10b+ companies/year are being created right now, and we're definitely running hot and ahead of ourselves right now...

There are only 130 US tech companies, public or private, valued at $10B or more (decacorns). That’s roughly 20 to 30 new companies per decade, for the last five decades. This year alone, with a quarter to go, there have been 42 decacorns minted privately. Either this is the most economically transformative event since the industrial revolution, or we’re getting a wee bit ahead of ourselves.

The fun bit about the oil analogy...back in the 1880s, oil was for refined for...wait for it...lighting kerosene lamps. The big use cases - cars, planes, plastics (all of which consume A LOT of oil) - didn't come around until decades later! With AI, the first use case was a consumer chatbot. Now coding, legal, and so on. On a relative basis, with Intelligence, we're still doing the equivalent of lighting kerosene lamps! So many amazing use cases for Intelligence still to come...we can't even imagine them yet!
