BELIEVE WHAT YOU HEAR WHEN ITS RECORDED BY A HIDDEN MICROPHONE
It doesn't appear that Mike Johnson knew he was being recorded today when he admitted that if they hold on to power, Republicans will cut Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security next year.
Vote Blue in November!
Our volunteer coalition immediately brought the family to my office’s triage center and my team sprung into action. Within minutes, one of my staff members demanded his belongings from ICE while @NYLAG prepared an emergency lawsuit and his kids had a snack and played games.
Realizing they could not defend the arrest in court, ICE quickly released him to his family.
They knew they broke the law. Aggressive congressional oversight and legal advocacy are our best defense against this administration's lawless dragnet. (2/2)
I’ve been thinking a lot about the extraordinary outbursts of the President of the United States against female journalists... well, actually against journalists in general and journalism. But it feels like he saves his most childlike behavior and irrational language for female reporters, calling them all kinds of names that kids in kindergarten are given times out for. It’s stunning to me to witness such behavior from any leader, any CEO, any person of influence or importance. I’ve never witnessed someone like this raging, this weekend with @meetthepress host @kwelkernbc, just last week in the Oval Office with @cnn’s @kaitlancollins, calling women stupid or piggy, telling them to “smile”, calling them darling, demeaning their credibility. Every good man should denounce this behavior. Every person should be able to stand up for their colleagues and say “No more.”
Imagine this man screaming like this at your daughter, your wife, your sister, your mother... would you stand for it? No, you wouldn’t! And neither should any of us. It’s unacceptable and undignified. Period. End of story.
The Trump admin is trying to eliminate the Chemical Safety Board, which is a federal agency that investigates chemical disasters and exposes what corporations and regulators missed.
They have a small budget so it's not about cost-cutting. The agency's core objective is to protect workers, communities, and the environment by issuing specific safety recommendations.
Eliminating the CSB makes disasters easier to bury. If the Trump admin gets their wish, it'd mean fewer investigations after leaks, explosions, deaths, and mass injuries.
This affects every American, especially ones who live near a refinery, chemical plant, fertilizer facility, plastics complex, or industrial corridor.
George Galloway: “Donald Trump transferred $1.25 billion from the US Treasury directly into his personal account in Qatar, under his own name.”
After years of “America First,” this is where your tax dollars are going?
Straight into Trump’s pocket via a Middle East slush fund?
“I know Donald Trump and I know how deeply pleased he must be with all the suffering his causing. He comes from a family that is generationally racist, and he has raised children that will carry on his ignorance and venality.
We are letting the worst among us dictate our fate as a nation and this should outrage us all to the point we no longer tolerate it. POTUS has reshaped this country in ways we may come to regret for centuries. We can already see its effects in our everyday lives - and as hard as it is to not look away that is exactly what we must continue to do.
To document and bear witness to this administration’s crimes so we can not only begin to hold them accountable when we take back the House and Senate in November, we can also use their cruelty in this moment to educate future generations about the evil that can transpire under the guise of patriotism and normalcy.
Nothing is normal about this moment. You don’t have to go far in the U.S.A these days to see examples of people behaving poorly. We need to counter that with acts of love and tolerance, of acceptance and courage.
Humility is one of those attributes we don’t speak enough about in public life, especially in politics. The idea of serving others has been jettisoned in favor of a sort of judgmental, personality-driven politics.
The notion of domination has supplanted a more sober approach to governance which fully takes in takes into account how the actions of the individual affects the lives of the many.” https://t.co/SfZgeT6SzH
BREAKING: This Is A Pretty Stunning Admission.
A White House official is now reportedly saying Trump made a "fundamental miscalculation" when it comes to Iran.
For months, Trump has been saying a deal with Iran was close.
Just today, he said Netanyahu would have "no choice" but to accept a U.S.-Iran agreement and insisted the negotiations were still on track.
Then Iran launched another major missile attack.
Then Israel responded with more strikes.
Now, according to this official, the administration is admitting it fundamentally misread how Iran would behave.
That's a problem.
Trump defaming the FBI should bring home to the fine men and women of the bureau the situation they (unfortunately) face. It should make them think twice before carrying out illegal orders, and encourage them to look for guidance to the best traditions of their agency.
This interview hurt my soul. The mistreatment of black women and journalists by this President is down right embarrassing and unacceptable. Kristin Welker is neither crooked or stupid. She is a history making journalist who has earned the right to be respected. The President should apologize immediately.
I believe, more than ever, Trump needs to be chided, insulted, and laughed at. His ability to let things go, is nil. We saw that this morning.
He's narcissistically battered, severely ill, and increasingly paranoid. He's consumed by rage, fear, malice, and impulsiveness inherent to his aberrant psychopathology. He's physically weakened by disease. His massive energy swings portend to increased medication to treat neurological diminishment. And his recalibration periods are longer.
He feels the sand exiting his hourglass.
He's distrusted and ineffective on the world stage, crazed by bad economic indicators at home, and panicky at the prospects of losing the midterms.
His math is 6th grade level - one grade above his vocabulary - as he keeps repeating idiocies. His myth is now being sustained only by gaslighting and puffery.
And when he is challenged, he comes off poorly. He is, like always, terrified of humiliation.
It's our collective obligation - Dems, Ind's, the media, business leaders, sane people - to challenge him more.
The election was not rigged - he lost.
America is not more respected under him, it's more reviled.
His war in Iran was strategically asinine. The deal he will be forced to make will be worse than Obama's.
Epstein is a massive cover-up.
His polls are in the toilet.
Celebs and artists want no part of him.
His name is toxic.
Nobody trusts him.

Constitution requires two-thirds vote from the Senate to bind us to another country.
They hid it in the bill because they knew it was unconstitutional.
It’s treasonous as far as I’m concerned.
Every single person who voted for this needs removed from office.
After the dams came down on the Klamath River, the Yurok Tribe didn't wait for nature to fix itself.
For decades, four hydroelectric dams turned a living river into stagnant reservoirs. They blocked salmon and steelhead from 400 miles of spawning grounds, fueled toxic algae blooms, and raised water temperatures past what the fish could survive.
When the last dam came down in late 2024, the river ran free again. But the exposed reservoir beds, 2,200 acres of bare sediment, were unstable and wide open to invasive species.
So the Yurok Tribe got to work. Along a 38-mile stretch, tribal crews hand-sowed billions of native plant seeds, planted 76,000 trees and shrubs, and seeded 28,000 acorns.
Nearly 100 native plant species. All by hand. All from seeds collected locally and grown out specifically for the restoration.
It's already working. Salmon are spawning in the Upper Klamath Basin for the first time in over a century. Lupines and willows are stabilizing the banks. The river is breathing again.
The Klamath is now the largest dam removal and river restoration project in US history, and the people doing the heaviest lifting are the ones who have lived along that river for thousands of years.
